Nicky T
If the rumours are to be believed this shoot will not be squadded and will be increased to a 120 target competition Interesting times and maybe the start of the road to recovery to make these Championship events as prestigious as they were in the past
Emmsy
well i suppose they prove year after year they can get 250 to 300 guns shooting at the christmas shoot in a day. with longer hours of daylight and cap the entries per day i dont see why it cant work. squadding sucks **** big time, always breakdowns and then it ******* everyone, just look at the joke at doveridge last year! Nicky T
It's capped at 300 entries per day i believe
Catamong
This would be a major improvement to the event, the way the CPSA organise squadding is abysmal, as Emmsy said, Doveridge last year was a classic example, with 6 or 7 squads waiting to shoot one stand, whilst others on the course are empty. I made several suggestions to the Board of the CPSA on how to improve the appeal of the Sporting Majors some time ago, some were taken on board, but they still resisted the suggestion to do away with squadding, being predominately Skeet and Tarp shooters, they know of no other way, very frustrating..!! Good to see the proverbial penny may be dropping at last, let's just hope they don't scare too many off by overcooking the entry fee? A 120 bird event at a superb ground like Hodnet should be a real crowd puller. Cat.

Mr Potter
The Potters are also booked in for Friday, don't know who's going to be down the mines or manning the mills on the 2nd of September. I just hope they don't object to us shooting in clogs and that the refs don't mind holding our whippets when we're in t'stand. Mr Potter PS We're booked in full price, competition. Anyone wimping out and shooting birds only? Edited February 1, 2011 by Mr Potter

paulos
Far too organised for my liking. I expect I'll just make an exec decision in late August and then be disappointed when it doesn't pan out
