Mickthemiller
I've just started shooting again after 40 years I used to shoot an old 16 bore on the local farm. I had no lessons or very much help therefore Never hit a lot. What I am looking for is someone who can get me off to a really good start, I,ve had a couple of lessons hit a fair amount about 60% but did not feel I was being coached, just told where I missed. I need someone to tell me why I missed (yes I know the gun was not pointing in the right place). The coaches I've used tell me the gun fit was very good, they had a dummy gun and fit that first, so I am fairly confident there, told me where to put my feet, how to mount the gun but there must be more to it than that. The gun it is a Beretta special made about 1984 but once again told it is in excellent condition, I bought it privately from a friend who,s father has just passed away, but tells me he has not used it for at least 20years. So you guys out there any suggestions for the right sort of coach, if it was for a very good one I don't mind travelling a long distance but only if you think it is worth it Regards everyone Mick the Miller
seeker
There's Ladyswood Shooting School, been a while since I went there, but he was good on fit and 'how to hit' rather than the 'over- behind - oh dear' approach. There's also Ian Coley's ground near Cheltenham .. not been there but he coached Faulds .. There's quite a good comments on 'types of coach' by HDAV & Twitchy N in the cost of coaching thread running here.
