tosspot
After many years had rolled by Tony Blair finally shuffled off this mortal coil but all those years of ministerial lies and cover ups had taken their toll and he ended up in the fiery inferno down below. At the gates of hell the devil said to him " i will give you three options, to replace one of your counterparts in one of these rooms where you must spend the rest of eternity" Tony peered through a window into the first room where he saw Richard Nixon being fiercely beaten by a dominatrix "no way" he said " that is not my thing at all" in the second room he saw George dubya naked except for a leather gimp mask holding hands with a grinning Osama Bin Laden "jesus no" he blurted in the third room he saw Bill Clinton with a certain Ms Lewinsky doing what she does best "wahay, that's the one for me for sure" retorted our Tony excitedly "are you positive" asked the devil "absolutely" was the reply so with that the devil opened the door and called " ok Monica you can come out now"

BountyHunter
LOL. Just wondered - does anybody know of anybody who voted for this government? Either nobody will own up to it or there is something more sinister afoot... BH
bindi
I did, but now I have tory tendencies, on the basis that the lib dems don't pose a serious threat. Bloody labour party, I was a member for 18 years, and what do they do: Well here's a starter: Do away with married man's tax allowance (just before I got married) Do away with miras tax relief on mortgages (just after I bought a house) Increase national insurance contributions (just when I had at last got a well paid job) oh the list goes on......petrol....stealth taxes..... and people say to me....oh why are you emigrating to australia??? Well its not just because of the nice weather!!! Jeez, this government stinks!!! oh, now I've had my rant.....i'm going shooting this saturday! darebear
if you have no faith in any party and view them all equally ****, and if you decide there is not a lesser of other evils .... you should vote just to earn the privelege of voicing an opinion? vote for a party which you do not fully support nor do you believe will make any worthwhile effective and positive changes? no. im not a hypocrite. i have the right of CHOICE not to vote, and i have the right of CHOICE to voice my opinion. shut up? dont be so damn rude. manners are free. SNAKEBITE
For what it's worth........... It was my grandad, who lived through the second war that said to me "People died so that we can continue to vote for our leadership. Not voting is like saying they died for nothing". This has stayed with me and at times I have despaired at who to vote for. Only once did I not vote and it felt like I had let myself down. Every party is full of liars and cheats. Every party will make promises that they have no intention to keep. Every party will blame the previous government for the state of affairs. But this is OUR country and what's the alternative............ BEING RUN BY BRUSSELS! Suddenly it don't seem so bad.

Like the frigging united nations. How many white shop keepers where you live? Regards. It's still our country no matter what state it is in. Regardless of someones colour or beliefs they should be able to live here AS LONG AS THEY PLAY BY OUR RULES. If they don't then ship back home and sod 'em. I supose that time has eroded our country and maybe my grandad would have a different opinion now than when he said that. He died six years ago and a lot has changed since then. I can agree with what has been said before, whoever you vote for will let you down and the fact that if you don't vote then you can't complain. Don't bother voting it only encourages them, inflates their egos and makes them tell more porkies. Whoever gets in it will be "Same **** differnt party" when they start doing something worthwhile apart from spending my taxes on lavish lunches and free trips and expensive wallpaper I may think about voting but until then I have better things to do with my time

Think you'll find that folks died in WW2 to give us the freedom of choice ! This choice also includes the right not to vote . I myself do not vote . I spoil my vote by writing on the slip non of the above . to paraphrase darebear they all **** in the same pot , so there is nobody to vote for . all the best yis yp Edited March 11, 2006 by Yorkshire Pudding

the last engineer
rude you say hmmm, i wonder if you all take a good look around your country, see all the areas where the people coming in are building church's mosk's comunities of ethnic proportions that threaten, as ive heard said many times here, the very soul of England, bet they vote, the very first time they have the opourtunity, thats why they have the ability to build these areas to suit their religon and lives, no-one stands up and says stop, this is England you either adopt the way of life, rules and regulations here or go back where you came from, every time i hear these words, " oh the country is going to the dogs" ask yourself why, did you vote "no" guess what ?? they bloody did, but it wont make a difference i hear you cry, shame they didnt think the same. and before you call me a racist or heathen or any other insulting thing you can think of, give me a second, yes im English and proud of it, yes i vote, but not there, i live in Canada now, a country which i am also proud to be a part of, where i beleive i can make a diference in voting, so i wont waste it , i vote therefore i am heard as i have an opinion. Martin , the not so rude Canadian off my soap box now thank god
darebear
if i insult you its because i believe you deserve it. i have no issues when standing up for my own personal values and beliefs, as i believe you also have the right to do so. however, my bone of contention was with you telling me to shut up because i voiced an opinion despite exercising my right NOT to vote. and in my book yes it was rude. and as for your opinion in relation to other races and cultures voting in the uk, do you vote in canada? Dead-Eyed Duck
Agree with you 100% Martin - if you don't vote then why complain? Yes, most politicians in this country come from the same university or school - Eton etc. Most on leaving these places of learning choose to become politicians and then toss a coin to decide which party to join. Once upon a time politicians either supported the working classes (whoever they are), or the business fraternity. Even if the press do exagerate, who would have thought that a socialist PM would have had a mortgage for £4 million or so, or that a socialist cabinet minister would have a husband that accepted a 'gift' of £350,000 from a bent Italian PM. BUT, if you don't let these b......ds know how you feel by voting for the opposite lot, then the mugs who vote for 'The party' will rule.
