Bleeh
Anyone tried the NFU? http://www.nfumutual.co.uk/you/motor-insurance/car-insurance.htm NFU do brilliant quotes for young drivers, though I believe they'll only take you on if some relevent family member has been a member for a certain amount of years. nathanhutchison
jimnys are only a about 100 quid cheaper to insure than vitaras and they have less room and are aspparently less easy on the fuel
soreshoulder
i am 17 and own a mitsubishi pinin 2.0 petrol as my first car with my own policy. I am on the NFU and the car is taxed under a commercial vehicle as it only has 2 seats. the insurance is £1300, and the car was £1800. And 4x4 that is classed as a commercial vehicle is relatively cheap to insure on a commercial policy. This is the only way of doing it to my knowledge
chrispti
How do you register a car as commercial

berties
Insurance for the young is gagued on the actions of the driving behaviour of other young drivers and am seeing more stupidity than ever in this area, sat in traffic on a three lane junction today behind one car see a car getting closer behind see him looking down at his passenger seat tried to edge forward to maybe change lane then bang and I am shunted into the forward car ,I pulled the silly **** Witt out his car ,he admitted to playing with his phone stood there in his flip flops and daft face saying ,what is the liquid coming out of his car and could I help him ,sat here tonight nursing a neck full of pain which will get worse in the morning, Mate that's why your insurance is so expensive you'll get boxed up with pricks like that
gixer1
and could I help him I'm guessing you didn't give him a hug then?
D_No
its very easy to blame young drivers, I'm 22 - accidents to date: 3 at fault: 0 I was hit in a carpark by an old lady (70+) who tried to deny it, lucky a few people saw what happened and she finally admitted fault. I was the victim of a hit and run, middleaged suspected drink driver who left the scene despite me being badly hurt and finally I was shunted by a chap in his 50's who despite witnesses denied all responsibilty and said I pulled out on him, how I was supposed to do that sat in traffic I don't know! Still having problems with my back to this day (2 years on) So all of this, despite all being recorded as non-fault have put my premiums up year on year since I passed my test at 18. Apparently the insurers believe in "bad luck" when your the victim On the + side - putting the time in shopping around is definitely worthwhile: call, email etc. as many companies as you can and don't be afraid to play them off "direct line has offered me such & such..." Good luck to anyone thats looking D
berties
I'm guessing you didn't give him a hug then? I showed him where to put the water and said he would be better off with a tow truck,he had admitted he was a dumb and inexperienced driver, and don't make my neck and back better, but I showed him compassion and never even shouted at him!
