Cheshire Shield - Pigeon Watch Team?

Evening All,

This is for those Pigeon Watch members who are shooting the Cheshire Shield at Hodnet on Thursday. I know Son of Potter & myself are definitely doing it, DSUK, Chard & Azzurri I think are on but hopefully there will be many more, any shoot at WMSG (Hodnet) will be worth the entry fee.

Anyhoo, as those who have shot it before will know there is a Guest Team competition the format I think is that a team can consist of as many people as they can muster but only the top 5 scores from that team count. Usually there are cut glass whiskey tumblers for the 5 winning team members and they "pay" down to third place. This competition is quite keenly fought over with known top shots being pounced on as they arrive to join one team or another, I already know of 1 "Team Manager" who has been ringing round trying to snap up good shots for his team (I must have been out when he rang me, either that or he's lost my number :lol: )

So, what I'm driving at is for those PW members who haven't yet been approached by the premier league if, when you pay on, you tell them your in the Pigeon Watch team who knows you might be sipping your scotch from a nice new glass on Thursday evening.

The competition is fierce in this category, I think that last year a team from Cloudside Shooing Ground pipped a team of Lancashire Lads by 1 or 2 clays, the winning teams average score was either just over or just under 90. I think those two teams will be keenly contesting the top spot again this year, it's a pity that some of the Cloudside Team don't shoot there or some of the Lancs Lads are from other counties!!

We can give it a good go then can't we and with El Magnifier on the team anything is possible :P:lol::P:lol:

Mr Potter

I already have a team of no hoper's -- I think we will be struggling against the Pro's that usually go.

Last year our team was called the Pit stops this year I have changed it to Cess Pit's as we shot sh*te last year.

Local forecast at moment (Wed morning) is light rain and wind - will update tonight.

ps - I have just looked on Hodnet website and there is a re-shoot of Cheshire Shield on Sat 16th April.

I seem to be first one back - I hang my head in shame - shot like a plonker - even stands I have shot and straighted before I halved - The team Cess Pit's have poo all over them - No idea how the Manchester mafia fared as they were late starting but hope it was more than my miserable 68

Even old Grandad Ron did a excellent 81 - well shot Ron

El Magnifico rides again

Great day out :good: It was a bit windy which made the clays a bit variable.

We entered the "Lancashire Lads" team <_< and came third overall. Top 5 scores counted towards the team score (didn't matter how many in the team.)

Lancashire Lads scores on the doors :

Son of Potter - 86 :good: Fantastic shooting chap, especially as you haven't been for months.

Graham Stirzaker - 86 :hmm: Slacking :P

Nick Harrison - 85 Well shot chap. Won the pool shoot too :good:

Mark Wild - 85 Nice shooting. :good:

Chard - 81 - El Magnifico

Mr Potter - 80 :good:

Alan Millington - 80 :good:

As it was top 5 for the glassware, I clicked in with a crystal wine glass :sly:

Azzurri was there with some ******* foreign heathen Yorkshire team who came second <_<

I know Azzurri got 89 and all his team shot very well (for Yorkies) :o

The Cloudside team just pipped the Yorkies, with several of them getting into the 90's. Awesome shooting.

Good shooting from Ron (Berettaman/Zippo/Tron/JKO etc etc :P ). It was nice to see him, not seen him for a while :good:

glad to hear the yorkie boys stuffed the lancs mob :good::good::good: pity your in cheshire rich :lol:

nicely shot all of you and good warm up for this weekend and the esseex. :good::good::good:

expect paulos would have shot 94 though :lol::lol:

Wouldn't say I shot very well beretta, beaten by The Boy who hadn't shot since January, a man obsessed by the size of his male chicken and then went onto eat half my lunch and a senile coffin dodger with tourettes syndrome. Oh the shame, Oh the humiliation, never mind the Essex Masters you might find my bloated corpse floating down the Manchester Ship Canal. :o :o :o :o :o

It wasn't a bad shoot to be fair, the wind made it quite testing for our first few stands but the queues were very long for all but our last 6 stands (how anyone can vote against squadding for major tournaments I'll never know).

Well that's it, I've got to think up some more excuses for my poor showing. :good:
