RossM
Hi, I'm about to apply for my FAC for a .22rf (add centrefire at a later date). I've been doing a lot of looking round in shops and on the internat and thought I was settled on a CZ452 .22lr in either the American or the Style format but the other day I was introduced to the Anschutz 1417 Thumbhole and i instantly fell in love with it!!! There is not much info on them on the net as there are with CZs so was just wonder what experience people had had with these rifle and is it worth nearly double the price of a CZ. When I buy a gun its usually with the intention of keeping it for along time so dont mind spending a that bit more if its worth it. I have noticed Ladds have them advertised on their website for £472 inc moderator which sounds quite reasonable but they are quite far away from me. My local gunshop is normally very competative though.
Gemini
Anschutz are the finest out-of-the-box rifle makers in the world, and also have the best trigger you will ever need. If it’s at a good price buy it. If it isn’t….still buy it. G.M.
hawkeye
I agree with G.M. buy it you will not be disappointed
RossM
Seems like you cant go wrong with one then. Has anyone heard of any problems with them?
Sergeant
Only thing i have found / heard is that the bolt face can lift causing missfires, if it is not treated carefully. other than that they are very nice.

JRDS
I have had three. A 1417 Carbine, a 1517HB and my latest a 1717HB and all have been spot on. Never had any problems with the bolt or anything else, they shoot superbly out of the box. There was a 22lr Thumbhole for sale on AirgunBBS not so long ago, may still be there if you do a search in the Sales section. If you buy from distance you can get it posted to your local RFD for collection.
RossM
I have seen the one on airgunbbs and this has assisted me further in falling for this beautiful rifle. I just havent got my FAC yet. The form is still here on my desk awaiting confirmation from a landowner that I can use the rifle on his land. Then I can get it sent off. Then i'm in for the wait depending on how slow Lancs police are!!!
dunganick
i believe you will find the one on airgunbbs in the rimfire/centerfire section about a page back.
