Cosd
Got two days off work and planned shooting for four days since wife and kids gone Vegas. Headed off to a friends perm since I don't have my own yet for a 120 mile round journey. Haven't been there for a while and didn't know what to expect. Found all fields but one had wheat and one has spring barley, all around 4" tall. All fields had some woodies on there and chose my spot on the spring barley which had the most birds on it. Cut a long story short there was hardly anything there. Set up a dozen flocked shells and real birds on a rotary, bouncer and turbo flapper. What birds I did see devoted really well. I ended the day with a respectable 7 for 11 shots. Even though I had planned to go their again tomorrow, I don't fancy the drive for that amount of shooting. So decided I am going to spend tomorrow door knocking to try to get my own perm within a reasonable distance up to 20 miles from my house. Also plan on going to test drive the new shape Jeep Grand Cherokee for my first 4x4. Hopefully I will report back with some good news, but understand cold calling will get me a number of knock backs. Wish me luck! Edited April 14, 2011 by Cosd

Cosd
Another bad day, 9 knockbacks from farmers, one invited me in and took my details, that was the most promising but nothing concrete! To make it worse went to test drive the Grand Cherokee and hated it, so back to the drawing board on the 4x4 front. Planning a day out with Deny Essex tomorrow, loads of land and crops to choose from, let's hope the birds want to play......

Not looking at new to be honest, absolute max is £8k. Will test drive the shogun see how that goes, maybe a Disco. Will keep door knocking, and maybe send out some letters further afield
