Dekers
If this is for field work then Expanding ammo will be almost essential, especially as it is a legal requirement if you ever want CWD or Muntjac (+Roe in Scotland). Apply for as much ammo as you can justify!
silverhawk
I got 400 hold 300 buy expanding.Be good idea if u could get cwd and muntjac added if your permissions ok with you shooting them. Kes
After a limited no, I rang and suggested it was difficult to buy in small quantities as I used the internet for bullet purchases, as I did my own reloading. So from hold 200 buy 100 I was granted 500 and 300. That having been said, my previous FEO specified the rifle was for fox so the Cert came with expanding ammo. I would apply for buy 300 and hold 500 and say you want to use it for fox, Munjac and CWD. If yours is an open cert, I would ask for all of these and a generalised 'vermin' condition with Humane despatch also attached. You are then covered for everything a .223 can be used for. Dont forget to ask for a moderator to 'protect your hearing'. Good luck

farmshooter
i have buy 500 hold 600 expanding, then buy buy 50 and hold 60 expanding missile - what ever the diffrence is
Bowen20
Yeah put down for expanding ammo. I put down for 400 to hold and 200 to buy remember they come in packs of 20 so dont go putting Down odd numbers lol like 50 or 70 cos they won't split a pack. If they want to restrict you or won't allow you to have that amount say you reload your own and the bullets come in counts of 100. I have also now got the same bullet allowance for my .22-250 aswell. Don't forget a moderator aswell if your in the field I would definitely apply for one they are well worth it unless your deff already. ian_in_the_midlands
Have you seen the price of ammunition nowdays!! I put down to purchase 100, hold 200. I can not afford any more than that :(.
Bowen20
Still there's no point in limiting your allowance due to circumstance they could change!!! And if they did then it's the hard task of getting them to increase it and paying the £26.00 for the pleasure. And if your rifle likes privy ammo it's £48.00 for
