Cranfield
I have never used a pecker, mainly as I can't see what the advantage with them is. A friend of mine had one of the early ones and sold it on eBay after a few outings. By the time a pigeon can see the decoys head is moving up and down, surely it will be in range for a shot. Otherwise it just looks like any other full bodied decoy. However, if it gives you confidence, it might be £40 well spent.

digger
only pulling your leg,to be honest your better off with a flapper.the price difference isnt huge and they can be mounted on "arms" to stand above peas/beans etc.ive used flappers when the magnet has put pigeons off and on the day they can be deadly
Catamong
Fulltimeshooter, With a name like that, hopefully you should be telling us part timers how it's done. I've shot a few Pigeons in my time, but have never felt the need to invest in those new-fangled peckers. In my opinion, if the Woodie is close enough to see whether the bird is bobbing up or down or not, it's close enough to shoot, so why bother with lugging heavy battery powered solo birds, when a multitude of shells on wobbly sticks would work just as well...?? Peckers are a bit like snap-caps, designed to trick newbies to the sport into parting with more money than they need to..!! Cat. P.S. - Fill in your profile - a lot of guys on this forum won't respond to those from the land of "Not Given".
