If this works, you should see me and my best friend (Hannah) had a great time roosting woodies back in Feb. Bag on the day was 33. As you can see the weather was slightly on the cold side, but nothing bad enough to make me want to stay at home

Lab is now 9 years old, but still works really well. Best dog I have ever had.

No Chewyjack she is young looking, wish I knew her secret to looking so young.

She is out of Carrington Bramble and the sire was Scolopax Neil.

And yes, it was a great bag concidering that the best day I had had in this particular spinney was 35 on which was a perfect day (if there is such a thing) when the wind etc was in the right direction to bring the 'woodies' in.

Cranfield, I remember being on 'Kenzies Creek' on The Wash when i was without a dog for a short time. Nothing more soul destroying than taking a good mallard and not being able to pick it because it is being washed away by the tide the other side of the creek.

Nice dog Konings. Looks like a good worker :)

miffy & chewy,

once trained to a decent standard, you will realise how important a dog can be when out with your gun. Not only for the fact that they pick up any wounded bird that drop way back (that we humans spend hour trying to locate and catch) and like cranfield says, they are great for conversation when waiting for shooting. And some of the expressions they give you (especially after watching all forty woodie fly by without any casualties) are quite comical.

'Mans best friend'

I've been with dogs plenty of times when out shooting so i know how important it is to have one whilst shooting. A friend has a lab as a trained deer dog and a couple of times now it has found deer that have run into thick cover, i'm not sure that we would have found one of them and its found loads for him that have run off when shot. I just haven't had time to look after a dog until now and i'll be getting the dog in a few months time.
