Salopian
I heard today that it was a wonderful way to waste a Sunday and some money.A friend shot it and said he'd have preferred to fight Mike Tyson as he felt so beat up and frustrated at dreadful target setting, poor refereeing, broken traps and wind affected targets. We don't need Mums against Guns. Grounds like Worsley and the CPSA will kill off clayshooting very soon.

I shot round and didn't suffer any trap breakdowns, the refs were fine, I had only one no-bird and thought that the targets were ok. Some of the birds were wind-affected, but unless you have discovered a way to take dominian over the weather then there's not a lot you can do about that. Worsley are inexperienced at running registered competitions and need all the support they can get. The targets will get better with time and constructive criticism, but it's petty whining from prima donnas who've shot badly that will kill off clay shooting, not grounds that are trying to get their foot back in the door with registered shooters. 100milesaway
I also shot it and thought it was an excellent shoot , the targets were fine no one can legislate for the wind, and on a one day shoot it's the same for everyone. We only got one trap breakdown and when we returned to the stand it had been mended within 10 minutes.I did only manage to shoot a 68 but don't blame the target setters for my incompitance.I didn't come across any bad refs most of them were established Worsley shooters, I hope that they put more shoots on the North region badly needs them. from Auntie. :look:

Never thought I'd agree with the ******* student about anything, but that's it in a nutshell. The ground was killed off last time by whining prima donnas who can't get a good score there. It's one of those grounds that you can either shoot it or you can't but that doesn't make it a bad ground. The loudest whining always comes from those with **** scores - fact. I would add that I think there might be a bit of perverse arrogance at Worsley at times, where they seem to revel in setting these ballbreaker courses, but again, doesn't make it a bad ground. Tough ground maybe. The prima donnas will say it's not tough, it's skeet in the trees. Why can't they hit the ******* things then? Mungler
I like a wind swept day, I find it switches me on and suits my style of shooting. It's also a good leveller as there's plenty of good shots who can't hit blowy targets. We have a big shooting do on Monday and I hope it's wind and no rain. EdSolomons
I just answered a thread on this on clay sporting but will put an abridged version on here. It was much better than the last one they did which was a genuine disaster (and I shot that one alright!). The weather is the weather. We can't do anything about it. Most of the stands were fine re the wind with a notable exception or two. Largely refs were very good/fair with a couple of exceptions. There was a very badly thought out stand and a couple of wasted opportunities with the towers they had. It is actually a nice ground with real potential it just needs someone to set up the birds with a bit more experience/knowledge to get the most out the place. There were a couple of stands which were really good so they have something to build on, but I think there are a lot of people who will be unwilling to go back to see I they managed 3 in a row. Ian E
Just spent the morning at Worseley shooting the England course from last week, interesting course, I have to agree with Ed on the whole, a few to many simo pair for no real reason but to try and make it "harder" and I think I very wasted rabbit stand, certainly room for improvement but on the whole top marks. 69 which I was pleasantly surprised by for my C class
