Surplus and adventure

Recommended Posts

I have just recently dealt with them for a jacket.

This was my experience.

I ordered and paid for the jacket, which was the cheapest one that I had seen online anywhere. After I had done that, I decided to research the company a bit. Bit late to do that you might think, yes it was an afterthought.

Anyway there was loads of complaints about the company, so I started to think that I'd got it wrong again.

Delivery stated on the order 4-5 working days. On the 5th day I phoned them up enquiring about my order. They then told me that the jackets weren't in stock, but were expecting delivery anytime, and would email me as soon as they were in stock, and that the jacket would be sent a.s.a.p. I voiced my disappointment because when I placed the order, it did seem to suggest that they were in stock.

So I had no option but to wait.

Low and behold only a day or so later I got an email saying that the jackets were in, and mine had been dispatched.

Sure enough, the following day, the nice postman handed me my new jacket.

So, what I was expecting to happen, after reading all the tales of woe, never happened.

My jacket arrived safely, albeit, 3 or 4 days after I was expecting, but thats not the end of the world is it.

I've had much worse experiences, and I would use them again. The price couldn't be beaten. :good:

Surplus and Adventure.

want some crow floaters and decoys from Jack pyke, cant seem to get them direct, just wondered if anybody has used this outfit

My dealings with them were a disaster. What I wanted was alleged to be in stock and wasn't. Despite that, unlike many good mail order co's, they took my money before despatch. I had to go to my card provider. But surplus an adventure agreed to a refund and said it would take 30 days - and it did.

I now google the name of a co and add the word "Reviews". Upmystreet.com and the Review centre have quite interesting tales about this co as do other review sites.

I would never deal with them again.

A lot of mail order companies don't keep any stock but "order to order" which is becoming the industry norm these days. If it means you are getting it a bit cheaper its probably worth the wait.

Some of these companies, you think you are dealing with a big outfit judging from thier website actually turn out to be a man working from his spare bedroom.
