Dave-G
Whilst you need to have a 'good reason' to hold an FAC, such as some where to use it, and a purpose for it for example, a person does not need to have any reason to hold a SGC. Imperfection
He might have lost his FAC due to not having land to shoot over and not being a member of a club.As you will be aware-Land usage or club membership dont affect SGC's which would explain why he still has his. roadkill
as above no land no club no fac , some people get a fac for paid days only ( stalks ) but i think its quite hard to do it that way roadkill
KFC
The number of rounds purchased may indicate very little use and, therefore, not support the 'good reason' for having an FAC.

Imperfection
Skeleton in the cupboard comes to mind . harnser. Thats what i would have said also, but i cant work out what offence would jeapodise an FAC application, but not SGC. Perhaps the landowner has fallen out with the shooter and notified the Police he is no longer welcome? Seems very peculiar.
bignoel
yes i find it very odd that you can lose your fac and retain your shotti cert very odd indeed . :yp:
njc110381
I'd say it's fairly clear that it's not a security or suitability issue. I think there has to be some issue which has come up regarding the reason he needs it. No need = no gun. There's no way on earth he would keep his shotguns of they thought he wasn't safe with a rifle. Not a hope.
