Vince Green
Buy a lee hand primer, make sure to ask for a .243 shell holder at the same time, its the same one that fits .308 etc
.philmypower.
Just as i thought i was hoping there was a way around it looks like another 60 mile trip back to the shop Thanks
kent
if you bought a kit just check there isn't a press attachment for priming first. The Lee is the better option though remember safety first especially handling primers wear those specs
.philmypower.
Yeah theres nothing on the press why the specs do the primers go off often ?

al4x
as said order one, have you got a shell holder on the press that you can remove if so you can swap them over. A bit of a faff but would get you going till you find another shell holder
kent
Yeah theres nothing on the press why the specs do the primers go off often ? Not often, but they can do. Federal primers are said to be a no go in the Auto loader, but i use them. Primers are the most dangerous bit when hanloading, one could blind you a chain detonation could proove much worse. thats why you have to be carefull, wear safety specs and best not to do it on carpet etc due to the chance of static i should also loose the mobile phone and other such devices
polester
If it's a lee press that you have is there not 2 L shaped bits that fit into the press piston these can be used for priming and directing the spent primers down the collection tube
garyb
A lee hand primer will set you back all of about £
jamie g
dont forget the press shell holder is different to the lee hand primer shell holder.
