jamesmacc
hi, i have a cz hmr on order and im looking to get a nice scope to top it off with. my budget is £150 but may strech a bit further if needs be. im a bit of a kid when it comes to boys toys and like large scopes with all the features. i have seen a nikko nighteater 8-32x60 ao ir with mounts, sidewheel, covers and sun shade for £205. i also like the cheaper but still good spec nikko gameking 4-16x50 with ao ir etc for £80. does anyone have any reccomendations or have either of the scopes mentioned. cheers, james
steve_b_wales
The Nikko Gameking is an excellent scope, and if it's as good as you say, then go for it. The HAWKE range of scopes are also excellent, both in quality and clarity. Steve.
12borejimbo
The first one sounds a bit mighty, I have an MTC Viper 4-16x50, lovely scope, before I had a Hawke Niughteater 5.5-20x50, that was good. As Steve said, by the best in your budget, nikko, bushnell or Hawke and you cant go wrong!
jamesmacc
thanks for your input. i think i will go with the gameking, the nighteater is overkill but its just so dam cool and will look awsome on my rifle, i went for a thumbhole laminated stock cause i like a good looking gun aswell as a good shooter. Forget the gizmo's the hmr is flat enough shooting to not need any, just spend as much as you can on a Leupold 3-9X40mm VX2 or the likes even secondhand the lifetime warranty stands the glass quality and ability to hold zero is exellent you will not regret it if you do

the enigma
I've just put a Nikon Prostaff 4-12 x 40 on my hmr. Nice simple scope with pretty good glass. Picked it up for £165.
the running man
As said above, get the best you can and what you are most comfy with, the hmr is a bit fast for most ranges except ure fullbore ranges,so I'm assuming u want to ust it for rabbits? In which case u want to be thinking small or at least light and compact. The world of rifle scopes is now a massive minefeild with china making very affordable stuff. I personally have a 3-9-40 hawke on mine and its not lost its zero in 4 years,so I don't mess with it.and its clear enough...... I say this to most people, any of the cheaper scopes are fine up to 50m from then onwards u have to fork out,I personally feel that meopta is shootings best kept secret,u get the same quality as s&b and sawarski, but half the price, but are a little heavier, I have 4 of them, and they are worth every penny. So good luck in you're search if u want anymore info, most here are gladd to try and answer u.
jamesmacc
thanks for all the replys. i will look into all the scopes mentioned. so what features dont i need realy, iluminted rectile im not bothered about realy, some say adjustable objective is usefull for rimfire rifles? i have seen some nice redfield scopes that are realy no nonence scopes, they have zoom and a good rectile and glass and thats it, they claim they have everything you need and nothing you dont need. P/A is only of real use if you go over 10x or want to spend a lot of time punching paper as you don't get to use it much in the field. Target turrets are of debatable use personally i found even when the HMR had the Target turret scope ontop i aplied Kentucky hold in the field

kent
Ha Ha, wait till your eyes start going, PA helps me see the quarry clearly, ****** its intended use! Sorry paralax adjustment is meant to elliminate paralax error not focus. Decent scopes are fine below 10X even 12X without paralax fiddling. if your using paralax too see your "quarry" at 10x or below get a better scope Dekers

You are a lucky ****** not to understand, £2200 of scope doesn't work, wait till your eyes go, then you will get it!
