First Night with the HMR

Hi folks, had my first night with the Sako quad HMR on Monday night. It was very calm weather but as I couldn't face watching the dross we pay tv licenses for thought I'd get out and have drive round one of my farms and give the new gun a try. To my surprise the missus asked if she could come with me too which I reluctantly agreed. This is the first time Ive been able to drive any of the fields as the grass has just come off so i'd never tried the shooting off the wing mirror technique. Well what can I say apart from I can see the .22lr becoming almost redundant after only having my face for 3 months. An hours drive around in daylight accounted for 16 rabbits all head shot bar one which is my best bag to date. Any concerns about the noise of the HMR have now gone, shot several rabbits side by side they just don't seem to know whats going on when you shoot the first one they just sat and looked round, to be honest the .22lr seemed to spook them more. Cant wait to get back out with it again, worrying thing is the missus loved it and wants to come again and although it was handy getting her to get out the jeep and pick the rabbits up gonna have to come up with some excuses to leave her at home. post-27464-0-45727700-1308919867.jpgpost-27464-0-12279500-1308919824.jpgpost-27464-0-57197800-1308919940.jpg
