cockercas
Just been out rabbiting with swisstony and a lad who wants to start shooting and we had a proper run in with some incredibly irate antis. So the story gose. Pulled into a field of about 6 acres few rabbits at far end of field so get rifle out. Line up the shot and bang. Must of got a HV mixed in with subs. Anyway 10seconds later this blokes shouting and swearing and his wife is shouting were are you (there a 10ft high hedge between ther house wich is 120 yards away and us) so I drive a bit down the field turn round and head back towards the gate. Then the bloke who lives on the other side of the field (about 150yards) starts shouting. So tony slips the gun and the bloke starts yelling saying he's photoing me. So I reversed to a gap in the hedge and told him he can have a pic if he wants because I'm not doing anything wrong. Then drive to the farm yard stop and then he comes into the yard still shouting. Tell us were shooting on his land (just to make it clear WERE NOT) and we have shot at his house then the other bloke turned up telling us we just shot at his house. Funny that two allegations of shooting houses and only one shot fired. The really angry bloke then told me he was going to do anything to stop me shooting here even hitting me so asked if he was going to physically punch me and he said yes. I told him I was reporting that and he started mumbling stuff. Proper bell end. Tony was the real star keeping his calm telling him that there **** all he can do as were 100% legal then unbeknown to me a mate who shoots ther went 20min later with his shotgun shooting rabbits and the **** hit the fan again. Proper gays had problems with both before one kicked me in the ribs while I was laid waiting for rabbits and the other tried to fight me when I was 14. Farmer told me to give him a left hook. Anyways phoned police and someone's ment to be phoning back because its a 'firearms incident'. So I'm hitting the hay. Sure tony will fill you in on all what I've missed out
Beretta28g
Sounds like you have some real problems there. Perhaps a pocket dictaphone in the truck for future occaisions. Edited June 26, 2011 by Beretta28g
njc110381
So one of them actually kicked you in the ribs on another occasion? Did that get reported? If so what was the outcome. Not sure how I'd react to that? Probably put the gun to one side and smash his face in?

cockercas
No I didn't report the kick in to my ribs to the police. But karma is kind and SOMEBODY tipped a bottle of brake fluid over his brand new merc a few weeks later. (Not me)
Frenchieboy
While restraint is not always the easiest of things to practice in the face of what you have told us it is possible the best course of action, especially if you have a gun with you! If a confrontation by anyone like this I would do my best to unload my gun and make it safe before putting it in it's slip and into the motor! By doing that you can save the risk of them claiming that you threateden them with a gun which would almost certainly result in your guns and certificates being taken from you during any enquiry (Something that they quite likely already know and might well try to play on)! The next time you go there make a point of taking a freind as a witness in case things blow up again. Try your best not to give this plonker a right hook, it will not look good when the police get involved - even if laying him out in the face of extreme provocation does make you feel better it will not help towards your certificate renewal! As has already been said, a pocket dictaphone would be a good idea to have with you! Keep a written record of any events like this for future reference in case the police are involved in the future. cockercas
frenchieboy. We did unload and slip the gun. He is just a proper tool. And ther was three in the Suzuki. And I know about the dictor phone but why just because I don't play football should I have to record things. Non of us should. The lad who went shooting after me video the confrontation he had with them. The farmer text earlier to day that he will deal with it when he is back of holiday

cockercas
Ok bit of an update. Police phoned and said that I can either let the farmer go around to his naibours and sort it out or mr police man will go around to the angry antis house and lay down the long arm of the law. Devil_bri
Definitely go the dictiphone route. It will put you in the clear if he starts to make counter allegations, plus he will try to use his allies as independent witnesses, 3 witnesses versions of events against 1 man with a gun does not look good. Video camera mounted in your truck would be even better but hard to turn on covertly. Moral of story, if it's on tape u will be in the right
swiss.tony
get the police to do it, will usually get them to wind their necks in, once they know you are entitled to be there 100 per cent rite doc thats wat i wood do as well may be he wont be shouting odds next time
Gutty Boots
As above, let the Police do it. Bet you don't hear a peep from him after that.
cockercas
Spoke to farmer who was extremely angry that we was spoken to and threatened while carrying out a service for him. His words were. Lying ***** let the police deal with them because its not the first time he's given me hassle. Farmer even give us a dozen eggs as an apology. Told me to carry on shooting were I like. So anyone fancy 150 bird clay pigeon shooting in the field next door to his house minimum of 20 guns.
