Blunderbuss
Wow. What a great evening! I'm on the train for my weekly pennance in London. My brain is a little addled from booze and a lack of sleep, but I am basking in the glow of a memorable evening amongst new friends and with some of the best food I've ever tasted. One problem, I am with child, a huge food baby resides within me! I'm not sure whether to christen it Nick or Terry, as they are both responsible. They never call, they never write :( ....... I had a real Mr Creosote moment as I tried to force one last slice of goats cheese washed down by one last glug of port. I think it will be several days before I contemplate eating again. Nick you excelled yourself mate. I've eaten in a couple of Michelin starred places and had food that wasn't as good as last night. You are a craftsman. Terry too, the bread was a superb accompaniment and the cheese was a perfect finish. I took loads of photos, proper hardcore food porn, but don't know how to upload them using my phone. I'm sure others will oblige, but look out for a fetching pink number, proclaiming the love that dare not speak It's name, worn by PWs best known mole exterminator! A superb night, cheers guys

silver pigeon 3
Top night guys, as has been said before probaly the best meal i have had the pleasure to eat, Nick you are a very gifted man and your generosity last night was without compare. I only hope that some of the people that attended last night can in some way try to repay you, I will certainly be visiting your place again, but next time as a paying customer. All the best guys and hope we can do it again
stripey999
As has been said already, Nick the food was amazing! I don't think I have ever eaten so well. After leaving you at midnight, I was suprised you were able to write your post, let alone an hour later after more brandy. Already looking forward to what you proposed for next year. Well done Nick and thanks to all that contributed.
Fisherman Mike
Thanks to all those who attended I had really enjoyable night. Many thanks to all who brought things I couldn't have done it without you. I hope you all had safe journeys home. Im slightly drunk now but to you all thanks. I would like to thank all that have contributed by Name but im slightly worse for wear, you know who you are and thanks again Nick P.s. This is the 5th time I've tried to write this post but I'm sure you know what I mean Thanks Nick, one of the best nights I've had for a very long time, indeed at all...the food was from the top drawer only surpassed by your hospitality. Im sure I speak for all when I say we cant thank you enough perhaps........ in the words of the Mighty Bard... This day is call'd the feast of Hendersons. He that outlives this day, and comes safe home, Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd, And rouse him at the name of Hendersons'. He that shall live this day, and see old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Saint Hendersons' Then will he Lift his shirt and show his Tyre, And say 'This Lard I had on Hendersons day.' Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember, with advantages, What treats he did eat that day. Then shall our names, Familiar in his mouth as household words- Neil enamoured of the Mole, Blunderbuss and Sauce Brown, Malkiserow and the Baker Boy, Pigeon D'Argent, Active the Eight, Striped one Bird of Thunder and Angler Michael Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red. This story shall the good man teach his son; And St Hendersons day shall ne'er go by, From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that increases his Cholesterol with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fed and drank with us upon Saint Hendersons day. Thunderbird
I'll write more when my head stops aching. I knew I shouldn't have have that second glass of 'green stuff.' Awesome night Nick and I think a truly unique experience. I doubt all those dishes have ever been served together before (and tasted so good). I think you've found yourself not only a few more loyal customers but also a few new friends too. That goes for all of us I'm sure. Back to boring reality.... PS Mike, just saw your last, I'm holding my manhood pretty cheap this morning... Edited August 15, 2011 by Thunderbird
bakerboy
A night of amazing food, drink,,company and entertainment. The food was out of this world, and I am sure will never be surpassed, as was the company. I have a group of new friends, that I hope I will meet up with again. We spoke about doing it again, well if Nik is up for it lets do it. Nik you were/are a fantastic host and an even better Chef despite your modesty. Thanks to everyone. Cheers Terry
njc110381
Well what can I say that hasn't been said already? Not a lot really - the food was the best I have ever tasted, even some of the rabbit stuff was excellent (and that's not me being polite. It really was the best I've ever eaten by a long way, all of it!). Thankyou so much for putting the evening on for us all, it was quite obvious that you must have spent hours putting all that lot together! It was good to meet you all. I had a really enjoyable night in excellent company. We must do it again sometime, although perhaps in a setting where Nick can actually sit down for more of it rather than rush around serving the rest of us! Mike - thanks for driving. That was very good of you. I don't envy you for having to get up at 5am, especially as it must have been 1am at least before you got to bed?! Oh and Nick - thanks for the T-shirt. I'm sure a photo will be along shortly......
activeviii
I wouldnt even know where to start in thanking everyone that contributed to this blumming hangover, i cant remember the last time i have gone for a meal. must be 10 years. hendersons
Thanks again to all that could come,It was definitely one to remember.I knew it was going to be a good night as soon as people started producing their bottles (I have a bit of a rule where if you are drinking from a bottle that's a funny shape or doesn't have a label you are going to have a good time). I think extra thanks has to go to those that travelled a long distance.I keep thinking of who I need to thank individually and give a name check but in this case it is you all .So thankyou to you all, you all brought something to the room. Thanks to all the kind messages on the forum and by p.m. I will reply to all the pm's over the coming days as I'm running out of time today (going lamping in a minute). Brown Sauce
Carrying on a popular theme. Nick you're an absolute gent, food was stunning and I couldn't of wanted to meet a better bunch of like minded people. Thanks to Ben, for chaffeuring us to and from. Shame I don't live a little closer, as I'd certainly become a regular customer of your Nick. Looking forward to the next meeting. I only have velvet on my dressing gown, night cap and slippers I'm not entirely sure which one but I'm fairly certain there must be a Euphemism in there somewhere.
