burchy1234
Hi, Just picked up a mix of second hand decoys and pigeon gear to get me started my issue is i have a couple of flapper (string pull type) and can not work out how to set them up. Fitted to them is the two wings connected by the fishing line but this has a spring attach the a split pin to that. I'm guessing it goes into the hole on the white support pole. Also the decoy has a safety type pin at its front what is this to connect to? Lasty some of the decoys need spring support pegs any idea where to source them? Cheers Burch
motty
If you're having problems with those flappers, you'll see the reason why i sold all of mine. I never got them to work how they were supposed to. The electric ones are far less hassle. Try making your own decoy sticks with some dowel. Salopian
Packing case steel banding makes excellent decoy springs. Sort out the flappers, persevere, string is not heavy to carry and doesn't go flat and require a recharge.
