camokid
hello again it was another early start for me last sunday 2.00am went for a stalk to see if i could catch up with a good size roe buck i had seen the time before. i arived a tad to early and had a good hour of waiting, well i say a hour i have just packed the fags in so it felt more like a day . anyway as soon as it was light enough to see i was off one step at a time i sneaked around with my eyes peeled. The first to be spotted was a doe with young it was a nice site to see. I them moved on trying my best not to disturb them but as i approched the edge of the field my efforts of trying to be a silent stalker came to a end when a spotted a nice little munty buck and realesed the crack of the 243. he was stood there facing me no more than 20 yards away i took the shot and the 100g privi round nearly flipted him over. i decided that i was happy with a munty and went home happy and saved the roe for another day. here he is in velvet but still had a lovely head here he is all sorted the meat is in the freezer well most of it, some was had for tea thanks andy

zak_plk
Hi not to put a downer on things but we were told by BASC and the police wildlife officers that the minimum caliber for deer (other then muntjac and chinese water deer) was .270? Or have we been told wrong?
camokid
that my friend is a load of big hairy swingers. you have been told wrong 22o and above for cwd and munty and then 243 and above for the rest short answer. :good:
zak_plk
that my friend is a load of big hairy swingers. you have been told wrong 22o and above for cwd and munty and then 243 and above for the rest short answer. :good: Thanks for clearing that up. It took the wildlife officer 2 hours to get the wrong information. How can they in force the laws if they don't even know them!!
al4x
why were you asking the wildlife officer when you have a computer? all the information is online, look at the BASC website or even most local forces have it listed as well
camokid
hiya pal i would not take a blind bit of notice what any wildlife officer says they tend to be tree hugers. this is the best place to gane information from people who no!!
