Video: Slow Mo Hunting #5

Recommended Posts

Very good shooting with stable well presented and detailed video clips showing the very accurate humane possibilities of pest control with an air rifle there mate.

I have some clips on the tube and will soon have some NV scopecam headshot ones if all goes well with completing the set up. Some may be through a LaserScope showing the digital range display using a 17 REM.

My point of saying the above is that I'd like to know the software you use as mine does not support slow mo if you would be so kind.

Look forward to seeing your efforts - make sure you let me know when they're up :good: I do most of my shooting at night but just can't capture slo-mo at night as it needs to be v v bright image.

The software I use is Corel VideoStudio X3...BUT... it's not the software that produces slow motion, it's the high speed camera. Normal video is about 30fps and I shoot at 240fps. You can of course slow down normal footage but it would be like watching a slide show.

Love watching your vid's:excellent.Would love to do similar with my .22rf.My CZ is superbly accurate making headshots quite straight-forward even with that slight vibration you get through the 'scope, shooting from a vehicle.Would a camera lense cope with that vibration,as stopping and starting an engine tends to spook rabbits?

Hmm im not sure mate, I normally have engine off if I shoot from my truck. I think the camera would probably stand up to it, but it may make your shots a bit blurry. Worth a go anyway, Id like to see how it turns out.

Thanks for that, sounds like you are well clued up on video recording technology. There are topics about Bosch NV IR floodlights (I have some on order) on the BBS nightvision forum that might help you - and it could be that you might be able to offer some filming experience. I started a "New Nite-Site" topic on there.

Yours are the clips I watch out for-with a bit of work I reckon you could make a saleable DVD-I would certainly pay for an hours worth of your filming.

Thanks! Not even considered it, but I think I'm a LOOONG way off making saleable DVDs, think I'll just stick to youtube.

Thanks for the suggestion, but for slow mo filming it really needs to be a v v v bright image. I can't even capture very clear video when it's daylight but the clouds are grey (dont forget the light has to go through lots of lenses in the scope and camera) I've actually made an 200mW IR laser which is silly bright through my NV and even that isn't bright enough. If I were to get a bright enough image using IR it would probably ruin the tube. I could of course film normal speed I guess, but that's been done, I'd have to build a new mount, and the amount of gear on my rifle would be about 2 foot long lol.
