Davy Holt
Hiya, I headed out last night to try and get a Fox that has been seen on the farm a few times in recent weeks. I set up on a high point in one of the fields to give me the best view of the route it was using and to give the best shot. After about an hour or so I spotted a nice looking Roe buck three field out but as it was quite open ground and the grass was wet I decided against stalking him so held my position. He decided to make it easy for me and slowly worked his way over until he was about 80 yards from me in the same field, at that point I lined up on him with the triple and the 50 grainer to the neck dropped him on the spot.. result Just as I was leaving I swung the car headlights over the field and there was foxy about 150 yards out.. typical but I'll get him another night Edited July 22, 2011 by Davy Holt

Davy Holt
Hi Ashley, That's good enough for me Was just wanting to check you weren't incriminating yourself! Good work. Cheers Ashley Not a problem well meant constructive criticism is good ... it's the alcohol fuelled rants based on half truths and hearsay from people that should know better that I cant be bothered with. NickP
i don't have a FAC just a SGC, but read these threads gaining knowledge and its always good to see constructive comments regarding times and how things are shot to us less knowledgeable the links to the deer shooting law section says Taking or killing of deer at night.Subject to sections 6 and 8 below, if any person takes or intentionally kills any deer between the expiry of the first hour after sunset and the beginning of the last hour before sunrise, he shall be guilty of an offence. Google says Clydebank sunset was 21:45, the picture taken at 22:21, so within the hour according to this Nice shooting by the way, one day hopefully I'll be able to post a similar thread
