Lyavale Express Super Game 36 SG - 9 Pellets

As the title really (should be lyalvale), anyone used the above cart? how do they fare comparied to others with similar spec? Or what would be an alternative BB, No1 etc...

 

Spec for the cart is 36g SG 9 shot - 2 3/4"

For foxes? I have a box of them that I take to deer RTAs so if I can get close but not close enough to use the humane killer I can drop it with the shotgun. Never used them in anger.

 

I'd imagine pattern would be poor, but they will hit bloody hard close! Beware ricochet!

I'd too imagine pattern wouldnt be great at range but it would be for closer range stuff say out to 25 Yards. I know other carts will be ok at this range but would like to give them ago if they pattern ok up to these ranges.....

The cartridge you've described is O.K. for a Corral! (O.K. Corral!!!)

The pattern with these cartridges is very poor unless used at short range. Using them at 25 yards would not be good, and there would be huge gaps between the shot.Used at close range,they are devastating.

I would personaly choose BB or #4 shot, even better if you have a 3" chamber.

iv used them for fox, and they hit hard at close range,blood every where.

Depends on what you gun is chambered for mate.

Here's a list of what ive used

 

2 3/4" :

Fiocchi 42g BB / 2

Eley Alpha Max 42g BB

RC 40 Semi Magnum 40g BB (my favorite 2 3/4")

Express super game 42g BB / 1

 

3" :

Fiocchi Magnum 52g BB

Game Bore 50g BB

RC 50 50g BB / 2 (my favorite 3")

Express Max Game 50g BB / 1

your better off with ssh or sssg of you can find it, ove seen sg used on bigger things and my god it flattens them! al close range they are very very good but thats close range

Too big, sure if you can get them to pattern they will kill foxes to such a degree that you could line them up and kill about three at a go Stick to BB or no.1s depending on what you gun likes- but test it. Remember also that the bigger the shot the more energy is retained at range Big heavy loads can carry dangerous levels of energy at far greater range than std game loads. Foxes don't take much killing if well in range with the two loads i can recomend

Don't bother with sg there useless stick with bb if you've got a 3" gun use express max game 50g bb or if you've got a 2.3/4 gun use express super game 42g bb
