That's a sweet group! How complicated is it to get a gun to shoot that well? I'm tempted if it wasn't for the cost of the equipment to reload for my .22-250. But don't shoot my CFs that often so :hmm:

If a mate has the stuff for a .243 would I just need powder and dies?

ATB!

Its not very hard to get any gun accurate, but the only way to get it is through re loading.

Re loading equipment can be cheap or expensive, all depends on your budget and what you aim to achieve out of it.

If your mate reloads, ask him if you can pop and and see how its done, you will need bullets, powder and dies or your specific calibre etc

Reloading is easy (ish) its ow to understanding your rifle and rounds to see how to improve accuracy etc but it is VERY addictive.

Cheers bud :good:

Where do you start? Choose a bullet you want to shoot or a type of bullet you know shoots well from factory loads? Then alter the powder for the best amount? And then the seating depth for best depth? Or do you get an instant improvement compared to factory just by even powder weights and constant seating depths between loads regarless of optimum levels,(if that makes sense ??? ).

Hope you get something tonight! :good:

I missed a sitter at 120yds before this one, don't know how???

No mess the other side. He was front on to me and as I squeezed the shot off he turned to go an had it in the side instead of front chest.

Will pop out later to confirm drops out to 300yds an sit an wait for the crows an rabbits

Not the only way, but a good one non the less :good: Some factory stuff is capable of amazing presision these days especially sub 200yds. But to get the lowest SD and match harmonics of the gun to the ammo its a good route to take. I like your portable bench by the way is it home made?

That really is some quality shooting Richie, well done mate! :good::yes::good: Nice job on the fox too :good:

:hmm: What the heck are you doing missing one, that's not like you? :hmm:

Hi Pete,

Not sure what happened and it's not the first recently either.... Went out yesterday an nailed a few sub 200 yd crows in quite a blustery wind, must be shooters error lol

The only way to get the best accuracy out of a rifle is to reload factory ammmo even the best is still in consistent as are all mass produced items.

Bench is home made, easy enough an cheap to make but I want to make it heavier an change the legs to male it more stable an less prone to move when resting on it, I can feel my heartbeat an breathing can be noticed sometimes

A year ago i would have agreed with that statement. However big changes have and are happening with factory ammo, posted a thread on it not too long back in the .243" with some 200yds plus groups. i remain a dedicated handloader however at 100 yds i maintain harmonics and SD have less to do with it than we might at first believe. Take your own view but don't stay blinkered :good:
