Mungler
Deako, are you a footballer (or rather a footballer's wife) or do you cut hair at the weekend?
Deako
lol.. ...no mate, just interested at the moment!
flytie
Saw one last saturday in a hedge. Chap got down to the river in it and fished, rain, slid into the ditch on the way out. Shame Silly beggar was using low profile road tyres. I was fishing the beat below him, he was not impressed when my little suzuki drove out past with no trouble. Had to get a tractor down to tow him out. If you look in the adverts you might find a slightly scratched one going cheap Ft
Dunkield
I would imagine Chantelle, Posh Spice and Liz Hurley have all got them, but I don't know how you would contact any of them I am afraid. . .
Baldrick
Buy a Vogue HSE if you want a Range Rover. Less garish, less chav, and more versatile. Buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo if you want a ridiculously fast 4x4 - at least the Porsche is more reliable.
Deako
Baldrick, the standard Cayenne is pig ugly mate. Though do a google for 'Cayenne Magnum'...now thats very nice but around £20k over budget I'm afraid.
dunganick
http://www.overfinch.com/ these have class the cayenne sounds amazing, particually the turbo version or S what ever they call it. I see quite alot of cayennes around here, we have a maranello (spelling?) garage about 5mins walk from here, and most of the people around here seem to buy their chelsea tractors from there. must say the modern range rover (not the sport) looks nice and understated and they are lovely and comfortable inside, much more my thing than one of those posey cayennes. Dunkield
Looks like a 'real offroader' that one - posh 'mum truck', or 'kiddie carrier' more like!
Baldrick
Yep, the Cayenne in all its guises is disgusting. I wouldn't buy a supercharged Range Rover though, if the HSE version would do the job. Try a Mercedes GL55 AMG. Those things sound unbelievable.
tenbears10
I have read that the Cayennes are fantastic for driving on sand. They tested them in dubai and austraila heavily. Problem is that it makes them absolute rubbish for driving around town (imagine a very fast boat and you get an idea of corners) and off road in uk conditions they are also pants. If I had £80,000 I could think of much better ways to waste it. The same article pointed out that for the price of a cayanne you can buy a proper 4x4 AND a boxter. Try a Mercedes GL55 AMG. Those things sound unbelievable. Don't you mean SL55 ? Fantastic sounding and looking car. Not sure what a GL55 is, maybe it's a ltd edition. Can't stand people that say, Errr why make a 4x4 that doesn't go off road. then why make a defender that doesn't go on road. Not the best cars to use if you going on a long journey, noisy, slow, no comforts etc. We've driven loads of cars and our Chelsea Chariot is one of the best for all round driving (apart from the scoob ). not the best off roader but it wasn't meant for extreme off roading. It's a large family wagon that gets from A-B in comfort and feeling fresh at the end of the journey, unlike alot of other 4X4s. But when it does go off road it does what i need it to do, which is alot more than a normal car. People that slag off other people possessions (what ever they are) are either jellos or they are dumb ****** that don't care if they upset peoples feeling. I couldn't give a hoot what people think, but there are some that would take offence. Imagine, you spend ages saving for something and then when you have it someone says, "What you get that for, they're ****" Nice person that. Anyway Deako, if you're lucky enough to be in the position to get a 4x4 that's going to cost the earth, good for you. You obviously worked hard for it and you should treat yourself. Better than spending it on drink and ********* it down the drain. That's my 2 pence worth, now back into hiding Adam Me blowing off steam Calm now
Baldrick
The G-55 Kompressor is the AMG-tuned version of the classic Mercedes G-Wagen. Supercharged V8 that sounds like a Spitfire. The best bit is the huge stainless double side exhausts. Very rare, very quick, available for the same price as a supercharged 'Rover. I'll stick with the HSE though.... Deako
Aaaarrrgghhhhh!!!...I'm all confused now!! I've had the RRS HSE for around eight months now and love it to bits. More than man enough for the off roading that I do and lovely to drive on the road as well. BUT...I always get fed up with my motors after a year and feel the urge to swap 'em. Mrs Deako will go mental if she reads this mind!!
Baldrick
Stick with the RRS - they're superb, but not as capable as their bigger brothers. But supercharged RRSs move like greased weasel **** sliding off a hot shovel. How about an X5?
Tam
Get a scooby Forester STi prodrive & if you don't like it i'll take it off your hands at the right price
dunganick
bah , just buy an impreza, they use very similar running gear, and the sti forester is very low to the ground (also ugly as sin)
