Am currently torn between a Ultrafire and a culson torch/lamp ! I've recently purchased a Tracer Ledray Tactical 400 Claimed 170mtr beam , It might be but with a filter on, its lucky to go 60-70metres
masmiffy
Lots of lamps and torches give an excellent beam with a white light, as soon as you put red or other filters on it cuts the range down loads. We always lamp from a vehicle so lamp size isnt an issue lightforce 240 with amber is usual for charlie and rabbits, mostly cos my mate knackered the red filter! The green and blue dont seem to work as well but have been tried from time to time. If anyone has a 240 red filter the no longer use let me know! Dekers
I use the Deben Mini and Max PRO versions for all my rifles and they are adequate, I'm not looking for any world record distance shots at night. The simple fact is some of the scope mounted "Torches" are really quite good these days, but there is still a bit of a balance between weight/beam/battery life. BUT..... Give it a year or two and and further technology advances and I suspect Lightforce/Clusen/Deben etc may have some really serious competition! ATB! barney 66
I use either a lightforce 170 or tracer mini pro for smaller pieces of land,i also have a jetbeam BC40 to use for spotting,it can also be gum mounted, two mode settings on it low and high power, although i have never used this mounted on a gun yet im sure it would do the job fine,it does have an excellent beam on it
willy1
Whilst at Bisley live last Sunday I looked on InovaTechs stand at the scope mounted lamps, must say that i was very impressed with them.A bit expensive at £250,but you get ALL the gubbins with it,no extras to buy. www.inovatech.co.uk Alan

As above. I use a Blaserlite, both on and off my scope. Had it for over 5 years, and have no trouble at all. Light in weight, and excellent quality.
