holly
i used to fish for brown shrimps off the shoreline and it was a summer activety as they move further out in winter, one of my winter projects is to build a drag or push net for next year . prawns i would think will act similar

tinytim38
Dont bother over big tides like we have at the moment, prawns dont like strong currents, learned from experience from years catching tasty little devils
ack-ack
na ack-ack is into the whole drag netting ( hightseas silently gets of on the thort of saltwater and monofilenent nets!!) I push net as well Neil, I'm a bit of a deviant. The prawns tend to shimmy off round my way in the winter. Still plenty of shrimp though, I reckon they're better in the winter. Less eggs and bigger on the whole but fewer of them. More fun as you it takes longer to fill a bucket. Maxie is the prawn guru. He lamps them at night with a head torch and a kiddies net round the rock pools! He's got an aerated tank in his garage. Uses them as live bait for Bass. really? Yeah. What of it? Sprackles
I have a small beam trawl I made for brown shrimp. Numbers tailing off now but still enough around all year to get a handful for bait. Best time around here is midsummer to now with the peak being september. I drag it behind me, 6' wide.
