Sussexboy
Hi there, newbie here. Been shooting for many years with shotties, recently started with rifles. I have a question about my 10/22. I've recently put Power Custom hammer and sear and a lightweight synthetic stock on in a bid to match the accuracy of my CZ. However, I now have a bad case of muzzle flip. Does a muzzle break have any affect whatsoever on a .22 before I lash out my cash on one??? Great forum, been enjoying it as a guest for the last few weeks and decided to stick my head over the parapet!!

Great forum, been enjoying it as a guest for the last few weeks and decided to stick my head over the parapet!! firstly welcome to the site secondly yes you will find a difference with a brake on the muzzle, though by how much depends on you and the ammo used, i use one myself for reaqusition of target, some of the high velocities i use cause differing amounts of muzzle lift, i would ask why the syn stock ?? weight or looks or practicality of less damage done, did you have the flip prior to changing the setup ?? if not put it back and see how you fair. Sussexboy
Hi Martin, thanks for the welcome and the reply. The stock has been changed for weight as it is the rifle my 13 yr old daughter shoots at our rifle club. Even with the wooden stock we still had the muzzle flip. I have been advised to try a bolt buffer as well on another site. Paul.
Dunkield
I know nothing about 10/22's but the boys up at rimfiremagic should be able to answer your question - I guess the only problem <may> be that there is a financial incentive of their side to say they do work
dunganick
A muzzle break on a .22lr will make precious little difference, i had one fitted to my cz 452 varmint before i got the silencer and it made no difference at all. If you want one then sign up to www.airgunbbs.com and contact a guy called 'Uk Neil' a few of us on PW have some of his work on our rifles and it is second to none. He can also make pretty much what ever you want for very reasonable costs.
Sussexboy
I've already been in contact with the rimfire magic people. We had quite a chat about muzzle breaks. He didn't believe they were that effective on a .22LR but a lot of his customers did. I was ordering a bolt buffer anyway so as it is pay day today I've ordered one of their own muzzle breaks.
