ah but you were out of the house and enjoying what you do fella thats what counts.

My thoughts exactly. Who cares what the bag is, aslong as you are having fun thats the main thing. I go pigeon shooting sometimes when I know im not going to do that great, but it gets me out, doing what I love and enjoy, if I knock a few over then great if not, then it beats doing crud jobs or working.

I went out with the Hornet the other day at about lunch time. Led there in the best hot spot I know for three hours and didn't see a single bunny!

It was a good bit of relaxation but as you say, go out at the wrong time and all you're doing is getting out of the house. Deep down you know, but you go anyway!

You can narrow down the odds, I google the land and from this I can check out wind direction on internet, news or my backgarden. Make sure your not a silouette and be hopeful, but it aint guaranteed, if deer, rabbits, fox's or anything esle were guaranteed to be caught then there would be none left, they are pretty good at surviving. A mate of mine had been planning a trip to Scotland all year on some pretty exclusive stalking for Reds and Sika, he himself a very competent stalker. Within five minutes of the first stalk he shot a Roe doe,for the remaining 5 days he didnt fire another shot, he saw plenty and enjoyed a week in glorious countryside but just didnt get another shot, was he happy, he had a brilliant week. :good:
