All im saying is in my opionon the time would of been better spent earning money to buy a better air rifle. Still awaiting an apology And in my opinion you should keep your opinions to yourself, if you can't say something good about the rifle that the lad thinks the world of you should keep your mouth shut!!!! This lad is 16 years old, probably his first air rifle, bought for him by his grandfather so he thinks its the dogs danglers. You have now upset him, he now thinks the rifle is **** like you say, so all you have done is put him off it. If you had said nothing bad he would have probably worked on that stock and made some-sort of job of it and been really satisfied and proud of the job he had done, instead now he feels like ****. As for the apology, if it was me you would still be waiting when you are my age. Young-airgunner, go for it, put some time and effort into the rifle and feel proud of what you have done when its finished and post some pics to show us all what you have achieved. Dont be put off by some of the d**k heads on here who think they know it all especially those who are "travelling around".( must be a diddy coy or something!!). . young airgunner
thanks for that peck, and dont worry, im not about to be put off by people like him, i am carrying on with the project because i find it enjoyable and good experience if i decide to do it again to another rifle in the future, just gave one side of the stock a couple of coats and rub downs of woodstain, see what its like in the morning.---- THE PROJECT GOES ON LOL cheers james

Hunter
Some interesting posts. I also did up a rifle that everyone said is ****. And later everyone said it looks great. Shoots well too.. BUT this depends how much work you put into it. A good post by Peck Not all of us can afford expensive rifles, and its good to encourage the youngsters to enjoy what they have, so they continue the sport. Natures Son, dont get wound up over somone doing their best on something, jsut because you have a big expensive rifle etc. Maybe we could all give this chap a few pointers? heck I pretty much started out like him with cheap nasty rifles, and each time it was exciting to make it up one notch to a bigger rifle. Now, due to everyones help, support, and advice, I am now a licenced FAC holder. young airgunner, You musnt take comments to your heart. Some people give their opinions straight up, other will be more subtle. A forum is all about opinions mostly, and this is what makes the weaker ones stronger so to speak, as through time everyone will make mistakes, and can tell them here. If Jordan had the same rifle, and said it was **** then most of us would reconsider buying one, untill we knew what was wrong with it etc. This forum has saved many people from wasting their hard earnt money, and has turned a lot of youngsters into more informed and skilled shooters, just due to others giving their opinions. So you also have to learn to listen to people without throwing abuse like that. Try to spell clearly, and lighten up a bit. Not everyone is going to pick on you if you atleast show some interest in learning and listening to them. So far this site has done very well, and compared to another certain airgun forum, with no name mentioned, everyone here gets on very well mostly, just because everyone does their best to see everyones veiws, and not abuse them. Lets try keep it that way Right, im off to bed.. nackered now Long day of hunting to sleep off, before a 13 mile treck with me mates tomoro. My first 'proper' airgun was a Relum Tornado, which twanged, recoiled like a magnum and was not particularly accurate. But, it taught me the basics of stalking and I won't forget the first rabbit that I shot with it! Don
