new to the flock
I have noticed in a few posts now that when referance is made to ice fishing, that alot of you are confused....most wondering why you would fish for ice when it is readily available at tesco's. .........do you not fish through the ice for perch and trout over there? Cranfield
When our lakes/ponds ice over, the fish in them would be very dormant and unlikely to be on the feed. Its also very rare for our ice to get thick enough to cut a hole in, without the whole area collapsing.
Dunkield
It never gets cold enough any more NTTF, mainly because of America's refusal to stop increasing the size of the hole in ozone layer Politics on a Friday afternoon! - must be home time, i'll get me coat.. Ferret Master
Hi, I have fished through a gap in 2 large sheets of ice before on a small lake/elaborated duck pond and caught my best bag of decent sized carp. Here is my results from fishing through ice. HERE! FM

Maori Haz
Hmmmmm might try carp fishing the lake if/when it freezes over. FM this is the Bushey Park lakes, they have BIG carp in there, a few weeks back while birding it, there was lots of thrashing in the water with loads of pairs or carp/ or 3's swimming really close to banks i think breeeding.
