Sharpshooter.123
To start with you will need a decent hide net and hide poles, some use four but 5 is better. A dozen shell decoys or if you can afford it then flock coated or even fuds. Maybe a couple of floaters/bouncers,Don't worry to much about pattens but they are the bare essentials to get started, imho try and get someone to take you along with them and learn the ropes, it definetly helped my shooting having someone that knew there stuff. steve_b_wales
Two bits of kit that, in my opinion, are a must, is a flapper and a Primos Power Crow caller. When used in conjunction with decoys, they are deadly.

stubby
looking at your avitar picture, I'd say firstly have you got a shotgun if not, apply for one now, in time for next year, if you have, then follow advice above
eccles
As the others said Also gloves and face mask carrions got eyes like hawks and don't move a muscle until their eyes are on the deeks. i also use 2 floaters if there is a nice wind blowing to give them movement. If there is a tree of fence post near stick 1 up.

lewj
id go for a electric as there wouldnt be much skill envolved as i can imagine a "manual" takes practice to get it sounding right knowing me id end up calling every animal in the area in other than crows
bicykillgaz
sorry mate but as far as i'm aware its illegal to us an ellectric call for decoying crow i was told this a few years back by the guy in a gunshop when i was looking at one. Maybe someone could confirm if this is true? I'm getting more into decoying crows my self, i've just got 10 flocked decoys off the bay for £40 new, i've also got 12 pigeon shells painted matte black which work ok if your doing it on a budget, i'm gonna get myself one of those triple motion crow decoys which run off 4 aa battery's to get a bit of movement. What does everyone else use to prop up dead birds? I've been using twigs but they end up slumping over.
