Dr_evil
I paid £5 for a set of those flexi rubber drumming earplugs, I've used them for years for drumming and working with power tools They block out sound very well and cos they're rubber fins instead of solid so they mould inside your ear to fit, a lot cheaper and IMO a better buy as for the price of the customs you can get a few pairs of these and it wont matter so much if you lose a pair
kdubya
I use emtec noisebreakers cost about £70 worth every penny, unless you dont think your hearing is worth £70 of course. KW
chris t
I generally use electronic ear muffs, but in summer these are too hot for me. So while I was at a game fair this time, I dropped on a stand that makes the molded ones for you. They squirt some silicon type stuff in your ear and then it sets (after awhile). Then they make them and post them out to you later on. I like them, fit well, don't move around, block out the sound. They do make electronic ones as well, but they are quite expensive. silver pigeon 3
i purchased a set of sonic valve type moulded plugs earlier this year, i wear them for clays/pigeons and driven and think they are brilliant. They do block out a small amount of background noise so don't wear them when out wildfowling. In my opinion a good £100 spent
Alpha Mule
I had a set made for me when I was at a bike show at the NEC about 10 years ago. They push a bit of foam with thread attached into your earhole, then mix and squirt in some clinical-grade silicon, wait a few minutes and pull on the thread. They then trim off the foam and smooth the edges. Hey Presto - perfectly fitting ear plugs. They block a Hell of a lot more noise than any others I have tried (and I've tried a geed few). They can be washed in warm soapy water and should last 10,000 years. They cost £55 then. Top tip: ensure you have no ear hair when you get them made!!!!!
Batch
I am with Kdubya on this one!! I had a pair of Emtechs made up earlier in the year and they have been brilliant. I only have the passive version, but they are well worth the cash

huffhuff
Yeah, got mine at Newark too. Great service, just had to get one replaced after losing it. They still had the original moulds after two years and new one arrived in 3 days. http://www.plugzz.co.uk/ The guys that run it are actually professors (or something like that) of audiology at a hospital 'tup north. Not jut some fly by night wanting to earn a few quid Edited December 13, 2011 by huffhuff
Guest cookoff013
i use earmuffs as i pick up ear infections with plugs (no matter how hard i clean the plugs.) i`m not saying they are bad, but its worth concidering.
