chefdon50
Hi Guys Another question for you all Which pellet should I use to get the best out of my new HW100kt .22 carbine at 11.7ft/lb Again its such a minefield and I have been told to use heavy, then the lighter the better What sould I use for targets and field target or live pigeon at roost ore close range (25m) rabbit. Until now just used my 12g. Don
lewj
stick to heavy and domed pointed are terrible and hollow point are good but not as accurate air arms rws super dome h&n feild crosman prem jsb exact all good pellets for hunting
fergie
domed are the best all round pellet jsb exact h&n field air arms get the right size though as jsb do two different .22 size pellets
fenboy
A good starting point for HW barrels is usually RWS superdomes of H&N field and target trophy ,if you want a heavier pellet then Bisley magnums take some beating . TaxiDriver
Another vote for RWS, the domed or hollow point ones, and for paper targets the flat headed ones punch more cleanly.

labstaff
Lighter pellets will have a higher feet per second, therefore have a flatter trajectory so should be a little more forgiving with range finding.
Iced Tiger
Have a go with a few types and weights, choose the one you are most accurate with. Remember respect for quarry, you don't want to injure the rabbits and pigeons, a clean kill is a must. When you have found the pellet your barrel is most accurate with, get in plenty of practice paper punching.

chefdon50
Thanks for that I do understand and uphold the code for safe efficient and hymane kill as I have een using 12g for all my sport until now Prior to this I did do some full bore but this, as you say, is somewhat different I will try differrent pellets so many thanks Don
jacksdad
try Premier Ultra Magnums, just about the same as AccuPells, made by Crosman as well, about a fiver for 500 from manchester air guns. 14 grain, went very well in my HW but my Air Arms don't like them! Well worth a try at that price, or try H&N FTT and BisMags (21gr so drop like a stone after 30 yds)
Wilyfox
Remember it's a one shot one kill job, so accuracy is everything. You need to experiment with a few different brands until you find one your particular gun likes & produces the tightest groups with. What one barrell likes, another may not.
