Weardalian
Has anyone used these hypa flap decoys? Are they as effective as the advertising claims?

sitsinhedges
I would say they are variable. They certainly look effective to the human eye but like all magnets sometimes seem to do more harm than good. They do save having to defrost dead birds and are always ready to go and the fluttering effect is excellent for grabbing a distant pigeons eye. Given the choice and purely out of a need for compactness and light weight I would use a turbo flapper, with the hypa's on a magnet a close second. Cosd
Love them, on the whirly if I don't have any real birds, sometimes I replace them with th real birds sometimes I don't. On the bouncers as well. Always in the kit bag!! Worth the money, in my opinion, and though they look very delicate, tuff as old boots. Cranfield
I have used HypaFlaps since they came out (still got the original ones) and I have found them good on a rotary, or used on a bouncer.

PhilR
I've got a pair of Hypa Flapper decoys, they seem to work well enough on either the rotary and bouncers. However, I had problems with the nylon fixing brackets cracking where the brass threaded ferrule is inserted into it, thus not being able to tighten the securing screw sufficiently to hold the flapper body in place on the rotary arm or bouncer. UKSW very kindly sent me out a new pair of brackets but the same thing happened. I spoke to them again and they despatched by return a pair of the older metal brackets which are pop rivetted to the flapper body and I've had no problems since with these. So a big thank you to our site sponsor UK Shoot Warehouse for excellent customer service.
