Sweet Sixteen

January my eldest is going to be sixteen and I need some ideas guys.

She's a quiete girl and I know she doesn't want a party. If its something with friends it'd probably consist of her sister and two or maybe three friends. It could be something we do as a family. I could get a limousine to take her and her friends wherever. It can be a whole day thing, it can spread over a few days.

What suggestions guys? Anyone who's already been through it? It's a special day so I don't care about cost, she's everything a dad could want for a duaghter, she's smart, sensible, respectful and works hard on her studies making her an A grade student with big ambitions. This is my time to reward those qualities and say thank you.

One idea is to get a limo to pick her and friends up, take them to a concert, then on to a top restaurant, maybe Nobu......

Help guys, I want it to be special, if she was a party girl it would be easy so to speak.......

Yea, she sounds great, find a nice spa for her and her chosen friends for pampering and a swim, add a barn conversion/cottage for them to stay afterwards, near a decent pub for food, then back at the digs they can do what they want...girl things. :good:

Fly them up to Scotland, and let them have a weekend at Aviemore. There are lots of nice places local to rent. They will feel like the jet set, without having to go too far.

This place would be perfect, it sleeps 6, and even has an outdoor hot tub :good:

Flights are £22 each way.

At the age of sixteen, whilst I loved them, I considered my parents to be the uncoolest people on the planet.

I would have been devastated if my father chose my birthday treat without my consent - let alone asked for, and considered ideas from a load of middle aged men on a pigeon shooting forum.

The only person who knows exactly what she wants to do is your daughter. You would get more credit for asking her and going with her decision.

In the meantime I would suggest a mornings reet proper clay coaching from PeterPeter, some crayfishing or a day of back to back windy foxing videos with her mates. :P:lol:

Hi Cos

Your obviously feeling a little better now, but have too much time on your hands.

I would agree with ME find out from your daughter/Wife or your daughters friends what it would be that she would like.

Having seen your family pictures, I would go the pampering route plus an overnight at a Hotel with a nice meal.

Good luck with what ever it is that is chosen.

PS

Remember, the big event is 2 years time "18" whatever you do now you will have to better, and then of course you have daughter number 2 to follow the same path

I wish I was totally better Terry! Doing great with the op, but flue'd up to the max! Streaming eyes, achy bones and all that......

You're right about the other daughter, they are thirteen months apart then she is also 16. I think I got an expensive few years ahead mate.

My wife has been asking her and she hasn't chosen yet. We've also been interigating her sister. It's all about ideas, I'm sure it will piece together at the end.

Went through it last month with my young lass for her 16th. She is a quiet thing too and not the party animal type so we took her away to New York for 5 nights and done all the shows, sights and shops. She loved it and certainly wont forget it, nor will my bank manager come to that! Better start saving now for my my young lads next year!
