Stealth Stalker
I obtained some fly screen frames that were being binned, some time ago and had a spare hour today. So I knocked up this to sit in the back of the Landy. There's nothing more frustrating than seeing your hard earned pigeons / rabbits covered in flies and their eggs at the end of the day. Especially at this time of year, when the flies seem to be on em before they've hit the deck. What dose everyone else use? SS
beatingisbest
good idea, looks very well made aswell!
Highlander
Old potato sacks, don't ask me why, maybe it's the earthy smell, but the flies don't like 'em. Also at this time of year a few freezer cool blocks or bags of ice to help cool the birds quickly. Bags of ice are good 'cause at the end of the day you can just empty them out and there's one less weight to carry off the field. Or if your like me just drive to the spot Not just the flies you've got to worry about but the heat. You can almost see the meat turning green on a really hot day. M ROBSON
What dose everyone else use? Fine net bags for the Pigeons through the daytime, then when they get home they go ito this, Mark.

pavman
Use my Wildfowling Deek mesh bag, has a draw string, I also use it early in the season when hanging game and flys are still about, prob with all methods is if you let a fly in (and maybe dont spot it) he cant get out! Frank, I don't know who makes them, but then I didn't pay for it. :( It was £5,500 new. Mark. Mark I have just checked out your updated pics, FANTASTIC can I just thank you for making them available for the likes of me to view, the Pinks just off the water is superb, well done mate

Fisherman Mike
I generally, skin and gut rabbits and de-breast Pigeons the same day (even when ive shot numbers!) The pigeon breast go into Ice cream cartons and into the fridge, or to the two hotels I give them to and the rabbits into freezer bags and into the freezer in the summer. I only hang game in the winter. Green and Blue bottles can locate a carcass within seconds of its demise and blow on it seconds later..!!!! Boy is that quick sex.... I dont know what my wife has to complain about FM
30-6
A cheap way is an old pair of fine net curtains sewn into a bag. Easy to wash for hygeine. Another tip I used to do around the ferret cots (and bins) is to hang sticky fly papers or the yellow square ones that gardeners use. bertie
Frank, I don't know who makes them, but then I didn't pay for it. It was ?5,500 new. Mark. Go and ask your local butcher who services his fridges, the people who do that will probaly sell you a second hand butchers fridge for a margin of that price! M ROBSON
Hi Frank, Sorry for the delay, We looked at second hand fridges for quite some time but nothing came up that was suitable. I suppose it's like buying a car, a new fridge unit will have a good resale value should you want to get rid of it in a few years. The unit we have is 6'x 8' x 7' and was made to our specification. It was bought from Tarrant Refrigeration, http://www.gamelarder.com/ Cheers, Mark.
