iano
hi guys - I'm looking to pick up a shotgun for doing some vermin and game shooting, and a little trap. Not looking to spend a fortune few hundred euros would be my max budget. I'm not that picky on the marque, what would you say?

bedwards1966
The main thing would be what fits you, pretty much any gun will work reliably and do the job. Find something you like with a good fit, try as many as you can.
Simon123
Winchester SX3, and yes it is within your budget (well to my knowledge) where you'd find a new one at £800, and as your first post says "few hundred" which it is ;)

iano
Cheers guys. I've used both an o/u and a semi before. What is the story with them? I've heard you can't use a semi in some clubs or trap shoots? For about €500, (call it 450stg), what could you be getting? Do people not use side by sides anymore?! HDAV
OU is most flexible, semi not so welcome on some game shoots SxS not so popular on clays (but you can use any type as long as you are safe, you just might not get a second invite....) Vince Green
Now is the time to buy, prices are way down. Its a sad sign of the times unfortunatly. When money gets tight expensive "boys toys" are the first to go. Edited February 13, 2012 by Vince Green
fulladapipes
Niall in Lakeland guns near Mullingar (Tyrrelspass) has a nice Bettinsoli Nexus he has just taken in ... and I know, because it was mine. Not sure what price it will be but cheap enough and a fine, fine gun.
