guest1957
If they have a Section 11. Call the ground and ask.
CZ550Kevlar
as long as the ground has a section 11 exemption then yes he can fill his boots.
HDAV
Some grounds will have restrictions so he may need to have a lesson with an instructor (a good idea in most cases) Edited February 14, 2012 by HDAV
Johnnyplatt
Are there many or any grounds like this in Merseyside, South Lancs or north Cheshire? Similar question but with my father -in-law.

I'd like to be able to take him around a few of the stands and let him have a go. J

Salopian
It is all very well a ground having a Section 11.6 to allow non -certificate owners to shoot clays under supervision. But far more important is the question, does the guest comply with Section 21 of the forearms act 1968 which is the fact that anyone who has served a custodial service either as a juvenile or an adult MAY be a prohibited person. Kes
My forearms are clean thanks ! Sealand will require you to have a safety briefing but you can shoot after, with safety glasses Edited February 23, 2012 by Kes

Thats why they all (in my experience) ask you to sign a disclaimer stating you are not a prohibited person

I'd like to be able to take him around a few of the stands and let him have a go. J hi mate,,if you take him to deeside (north wales shooting school) it will cost him £25 for a safety lesson which takes about half hour,,he can then go on any of the clay stands with you or any other sgc holder,,thats what i did and i,m still waiting for my sgc to arrive,, i,m even going wed morning,,the cost is £6 for 25 clays but be careful mate cos you can get through a few in no time good luck, oh by the way its only about 25mins from st helens at the end of the m56 mate,,,,good luck and happy shooting,,,evo but HDAV is also right he will have to sign a form Edited February 29, 2012 by evo
Field and Clay
It is all very well a ground having a Section 11.6 to allow non -certificate owners to shoot clays under supervision. But far more important is the question, does the guest comply with Section 21 of the forearms act 1968 which is the fact that anyone who has served a custodial service either as a juvenile or an adult MAY be a prohibited person. Section 21 is not just a case of having served a custodial period. It is an offence for someone who is prohibited by Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 to have a firearm or ammunition in his or her possession at any time. Section 21 applies to anybody who has been sentenced to imprisonment or to youth custody or detention in a young offenders’ institution for three months or more. The period for which they are prohibited depends on the length of their sentence, if the sentence was longer than three years the prohibition is for life. If the sentence was three months or more but less than three years, the prohibition lasts for five years from the date of their release.
