Hi, Visit us at Manchester Clay Shooting Club, we have section 11 in place & are able to suit your needs, we are open weds, sat 12-00pm/4-00pm & sun 10-30/2-30pm

Thanks Phil, will my F-I-L be able to just accompany me around the different stands or will he only be able to have a lesson?

I'd like to be able to take him around a few of the stands and let him have a go.

It is all very well a ground having a Section 11.6 to allow non -certificate owners to shoot clays under supervision.

But far more important is the question, does the guest comply with Section 21 of the forearms act 1968 which is the fact that anyone who has served a custodial service either as a juvenile or an adult MAY be a prohibited person.

Thats why they all (in my experience) ask you to sign a disclaimer stating you are not a prohibited person :good:

Section 21 is not just a case of having served a custodial period.

It is an offence for someone who is prohibited by Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 to have a firearm or ammunition in his or her possession at any time. Section 21 applies to anybody who has been sentenced to imprisonment or to youth custody or detention in a young offenders’ institution for three months or more. The period for which they are prohibited depends on the length of their sentence, if the sentence was longer than three years the prohibition is for life. If the sentence was three months or more but less than three years, the prohibition lasts for five years from the date of their release.
