game_keeper
i wouldnt be running away, even if it meant getting a black eye and broken nose, we all love a bit of venison! Anyways, what a great story to tell in the pub. " How did you hurt your face?", "well hears what happened...... A ravaging animal attacked me, and i had to wrestle it to the floor with my bear hands". Jus dont tell them it was a deer If they ask just say it was a giant animal with massive horns and bones as hard as rocks. Rob

il cacciatore
Seen that before on 'Youve been framed' or something like that. Cant work out if that is a bow or a rifle he chucks? Why is this proof that bow hunting should never be allowed? That could easily happen to anyone.

al4x
not sure he'd even shot at it but looks pretty funny. I must confess I'd have carried on filming as well I guess theres an outside chance there was a female about and he thought the hunter was competition for her, as its pretty odd behaviour for a threatened deer
Highlander
Only in America perhaps. Not so odd behaviour for a deer especially if it's in or near the rutting season. Ever been to Windsor or Richmond parks in the rutting season? You'd see some pretty agressive moves there. Friend of mine has a couple of holes in one of his butt cheeks (no comments please ) put there by a roebuck. And if you've ever been on a park deer (fallow) roundup rugby style (catching them in nets) you'll have seen some funny sights.
beatingisbest
reason why bow hunting should not be allowed! Hope this link works Thats not fair! I dont do any bow hunting but I think all country sports should be supported, yes i know bow hunting isnt legal in this country, but people who hunt with bows are similar to us lot, they hunt, they enjoy it, so do we, yes they use slightly less humane methods but it is a lot quicker than a snare which most of us use and dont think much of. If NTTF were here he would be supporting me!
Curly87
was only a joke!! i would love to go bow hunting and think there is nothing wrong with it! after owning a quad 300 crossbow i would say it it could off taken down most things it was pointed at, just a shame we cant do it in this part of the world sorry if i annoyed any one by that, nothing was ment by it. should think more b4 i say things
Guest jonrms
Bow hunting is great.. I dont understand why they dont let us do it here.. as for its effective killing power... well its very quick as well and I dont think that it causes any animal any extra pain etc.... I did that in america when I was growing up... shame it cant be done here... oh yeah.. *** is wrong with that guy... most hunters in america carry a pistol ... cmon if he cant crab it and wrestle it to the ground... ie grabbing it by its neck/horns and pulling it down that he is a nancy boy... lol well put. anyway lets start a protest on shooting with crossbows... we can all dress up like robin hood and stop traffic in london.. hmmmm KIDDING
Vulcha
Now now Jon, everyone knows William Tell was the crossbow bloke.
Devilishdave
That guy does not deserve to own a rifle a bow or a knife for that matter!! An interesting point has risen out of this why is it not legal to shoot deer in the uk? I think if you can group 3 arrows in 4 inch circle at 100m you should be allowed!! I had a go of a bow and arrow at the week end and strugeld to get 3 arrows in 3ft at 25m!!!! I am sure some can acheve results as outlined above but almost any one can acheive that with a rifle.
