walk with the dog

i got home from a really not good day at work and took the hound for her evening stroll.

for once it was just me and her and it was bliss, ambling around the woods without a soul in sight and not a single man made noise.happened across a litter of fox cubs that were just over half grown and full of beans, making so much noise play fighting they were unaware of us.sat and watched them for five minutes untill her ladyship whined as if to say "i want to join in" at which point the vixen appeared and ushered them off.walked on to a meadow where the dog had a sniff about while i sat smoking and watched dragon flies hawking about after insects.moved on through the grass disturbing a myriad of butterflies and a fair few moths.

back through the woods listening to the pigeons calling and the sound of english summer to see a good sized buck grazing by a boggy area.

boring ? maybe, but it drained all my stress away and the weirdest thing ? all within 14 miles of tower bridge as the crow flies.for those who have this on your doorstep, you are blessed :)

Sounds excellent and no way boring. The weird thing is reading your story made me miss giving up smoking, It's those situations that i loved to have a ciggie. I used to love leaning against the fence watching the horses and having a smoke, it's quiet and peacefull. It's just not the same with a can of abbott ale. :)
