0145wirbelwind
Hi folks I was looking for a new shotgun . I like the idear of the 3.5"Mag .I want the gun for ruff shooting and odd fox. I have got auto's but never had a pump. I tenned to keep my guns for years so i was looking for a gun that will stand the test of time and is fun to shoot at the same time. I shoot in all weather so that is something to think about. When i am looking for a gun . I look for the best action an barrel i can get, i am not really a wood man to me a gun is a tool and must be fit for the job
Dr_evil
Benelli SuperNova, love mine with the 26" barrel Mines all camo no wood and it seems pretty tough, gonna upgrade the stock to the pistol grip one soon I think, kinda nice being able to modify it by just undoing a bolt
kent
Let me say you wont need 3 1/2" mag for rough shooting period and i dont personally think its wortwhile for odd foxes. 3 1/2" is more about non toxic and geese. Std 3" shells and no.1 lead reck a foxes day i can attest to that. Yes i own and use a 3 1/2" mag but lead loads are in the region of 63 grms - thats gonna hurt from a pump my friend. So unless its for the geese i shouldn't bother with a 3 1/2" as it is gonna limit your choice for nothing
CZ550Kevlar
remmington 870 3.5" super mag
bedwards1966
For what you're using it for you probably don't need a 3.5" chamber, it narrows it down a little bit. 3" is enough for foxes with no problem and some say it's best not to have a chamber much longer than needed as it can affect the pattern. I've a Hatsan pump, I'm not sure if they do them in 3.5", mine is 3". It's a cheap gun that's nice to use, worth considering - and being cheap you don't worry as much when you knock it on things and get it wet through. neil smith
Just because a gun has a 3.5 chamber doesn't mean your tied to those size carts only. You can put standard size shells through 3.5 guns with no problem. I think the supernova is the softest recoiling pump on the market right now & mine has been super reliable since new, which was way back in 2008 & with heavy use in practical competition. danb21t
how about the winchester SXP although only in 3" at the mo but 3.5" out at some point this year Edited March 11, 2012 by danb21t
Sx3 clay breaker
Yeah but imagine shooting a few 3and half in a pump you would have a sore shoulder where as an sx3 is the softest recoil I have ever felt rgds plus the sx3 is hugely rated
HDAV
how about the winchester SXP although only in 3" at the mo but 3.5" out at some point this year Might as well buy the Hatsan!
Catweazle
Another vote for this. And another. One reason for going for 3.5" is the possibility of a ban on lead shot, steel takes up more space than lead.
