  1. Good on you for being upfront and honest, I expect there are a few who have been near to doing what you have done and got away with it. All the best for a speedy recovery, and I'll bet you never even get close to doing it again.
  2. Give Steve Beaty a ring, he is a genuine bloke with a wealth of knowledge, you can try any of his guns on his own layout. Tell him what you want and you will get helpful advice, not just a sales patter. If you can't get through to his phone numbers, drop him an Email, he does check them throughout the day. I personally think the Miroku is the one to go for, but it is really down to fitment of the gun. Good luck with whatever you choose and do let us know what you go for.
  3. If you just want the odd box or two, there is the Countrywide Farm shop in Crewkerne, or Sportsman Gun Centre for quantity. What are you after?
  4. Great gun, I got mine after a triple heart bypass and wanting to keep my breastbone in one piece, and have no regrets at all. Shoots well with very little recoil, it has the full kick ease. I would think the later lighter version would be even better. If you are down this way you are welcome to have a try of mine. Regards Mike.
  5. Those I don't give to a friend I leave in the various waiting rooms we visit. Dr's dentist, hospital etc. It can't help to spread the word.
  6. I ordered one yesterday from Swillington Shooting Supplies and it arrived this morning, excellent service. As has been said, it's a bit rough and ready, but for the cost £75 90p including the postage, it is just the job. I'm 6'2" and 16 1/2 stone, and I feel confident it will do the job no problem. Just need to take it out and test it now. Regards Mike.
  7. Soft GSD who whines all the time when out shooting so doesn't go any more, and our Labradoodle who prefers to pluck the pigeons I shoot before retrieving them. Must get some more training in. Link here: http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff215/bigmick11/Dogs/?action=view&current=DogsInSnow.mp4
  8. I must admit having had an AA S410 XTRA .22 FAC, I would love to try the .25. The .22 is adequate, I would think the .25 awesome.
  9. Have a look here, hope it helps. http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/Detail...540&catid=0
  10. I have a load of silver threepenny bits upstairs, and some farthings, I guess I must be showing my age, time for a nap.
  11. Link below for some proof mark info. Regards Mike. P.S. Very nice looking gun, I'm tempted but the wife would have a fit. http://www.basc.org.uk/download.cfm/docid/...-AC971F02CC7E8C
  12. That's a serious bit of live-bait that is. Show us what you caught with it.
  13. Hi Rob You have a personal message re the sale of this rifle. Regards Mike
  14. We call them Springadors down here.
  15. I have a pair of side rail adaptors from my now sold Evo, they cost me £37+ each. Would like £50 posted for the pair. Let me know if you are interested as I haven't put them up for sale elsewhere yet. Regards Mike.
  16. I've just got myself a Beretta A400, and like it a lot, hardly any recoil and it fits me well. 6'2" 16 1/2 stone.
  17. I had the pleasure of working on the Vulcans on 35 Sqn at Scampton, I was also at RAF Gutersloh in the early 70's when 19 and 92 Sqn Lightings were there, awesome bits of kit. I also worked on the Shackletons and was one of the groundcrew who saw off the last Shackleton from St Mawgan when the Nimrods came in in 1971. Christ I'm going all nostalgic just thinking about them, 30.000 rivets flying in reasonably close formation. Some of you may not know that the Mark 3 Shackleton actually had 6 engines, 4 Griffon 57's and 2 Viper Gas turbines slung below and behing the outboard engines.
  18. I took a close up of this Chaffinch a few weeks ago because of the problems with it's legs. I know chickens can get "Scaly Leg" I wasn't aware wild birds got it as well, or is it something different. He doesn't seem particularly bothered about it and is still around and feeding well. Any thoughts?
  19. I feel like a kid on Xmas eve. I know, having spoken to the firearms department in Bristol last week, that my FAC Certificate is in the post, (with a variation for .223 and .308). I have the rifles all sorted, paid for etc, waiting to be picked up, and can't do so until Mr Postman arrives, and he isn't going to do that today because it's Bank Holiday. On a better note, I got my new Beretta A400 last week and I am very pleased with it, it fits me like a glove, and is very light to handle and fire. It cycled everything except some 21gram carts we tried. The finish on the gun is very good and although I have only had it a few days, I just know I'm going to be happy with it. Bank holidays Bah humbug.
  20. My two beasties. Murphy is a 2 year old Labradoodle and Shadow is a 5 year old GSD. Neither of them are bothered by my shotguns and I can take them out no problem, but as soon as I get my Air rifle or Rimmies out, that's them gone, hiding in the kitchen and don't want to play. http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff215/bigmick11/Dogs/
  21. 1 White German Shepherd 1 Greyish Labradoodle Both fine with the shotgun, both hate the air rifles. Stupid mutts!!! But luv um to death.
