cant hit rabbits 123
I did hope that part of the job interview for the police included basic common sence and judgment. Obviously all you need to do is supply your own hat. Edited March 10, 2012 by cant hit rabbits
Cottonseed
When there are hundreds of criminals in the inner cities in possession of illegal guns, the police need their ***** kicking for pathetic stunts like these. And why was it necessary in the case of the Skipton cowboy to arrive at midnight and apparently force an entry? A single officer could have checked him out at a reasonable time of day. Sco77w
I saw one of those toy shotguns in Eurogun before christmas. They do look the part but they are tiny. I would be surprised if anyone would think they were a real gun. surly the airsoft guns are more realistic looking.
DSPUK
Are the police libel to pay compensation if they are siezed - if not can they be sued for the cost.? - At least they could use part of the bonus's It's a shame that owners who have goods siezed then returned can't sue the original informant - perhaps it would stop these loonies from reporting anything like this that is against their beliefs or think people shouldn't sell. - Probably a teacher and woman at that. dave

Livefast123
Yes the police should use far more common sense in dealing with these matters but the persons that need to be blamed are the idiots who make these calls to the police. The British public seem to need to be wrapped in cotton wool these days and phone the police for anything. If the police recieve a phone call saying there's a man walking round in his garden with a gun what would you expect them to do, nothing and risk another Derek Bird etc?? They are in a no win situation. Not that it is right but he should know better than to prance about with a replica gun outside. Browning GTS
It was like that story the other week about a boy that got sent home from school because of a toy orange gun, for $%^& sake it was a toy, I'm sure i took the same to school to play with at lunch time. but there again people had sense in the 60's ( old *** ). HDAV
interestingly they dont seem to go raiding shops of de-acts or section 13's but plastic calculators they do I think part of the confusion is the changes to a "toy" where 40% has to be a bright colour airsoft guns if your not part of club have to be painted....... The reason there is no common sense is due to the fact someone made a complaint.....I bet the whole force has new calculators....... As for the "cowboy" well thats just nuts............ Vince Green
At my school, every Thursday would see schoolboys running round the sports field and doing exercises with real .303 no 4s.Nobody batted an eyelid. Drill, marching etc. We were part of the CCF and thats what boys did in those days. Edited March 11, 2012 by Vince Green
