SNAKEBITE
does it really make that much diffrence what pellet you use in your airgun?P.S sorry if this sounds a stupid question and would like some sensible replies thanks in advance. FTS Thanks for proving my point as expressed in another thread I shall try to remain calm and reiterate the basics. Yes it is does make a difference what pellet you use. If you use the wrong ones you miss the target. Try as many different types as you can and stick to the one that groups best. Pellpax offer a package of many different types of pellets in small quantities to help with this very exercise. Try a search and you will find a multitude of threads covering this very subject and links to the pellpax site. Hope that covers it. I just going out and I maybe some time..................................
AndyCM
Yep, a big difference. Bisley Magmuns (in .22) 30g Lightest pellet (in .22) at a guess 10-12g + some rifles like certain pellets more than others & we all know domed / wad cutters / hollow points are (everything else being equal) more accurate than pointed pellets. Try a few different ones (on targets) and compare the groups - the only way to find out what matches your rifle. Happy shooting AndyCM
fulltimeshooter
I am using bulldogs, eley wasps at the moment but would like better accuracy and was thinking about Accupels? should i try a tin would they be a better pellet? 30-6
YES I always try the pellet recommended by the manufacturer (usually their own make), and a couple of favourites, got through experience. As you have a S200 try this, it is good for mine :- Zero for 30yds with AA fields 30yds = zero 20yds = 3/4 inch high (hold under needed) 10yds = same as zero The same settings with Bisley Magnums gives you 30yds = 1 inch low (hold over needed) 20yds = zero 10yds = zero Mine is putting out 10.8ft/lb with the AA, I have been using the AA with rabbit and the Bisley Magnum with rats (bisley are a little tighter) on this same scope setting. Saying that though I am going to re-zero and try RWS super H point on everything as it has been recommended to me.
AndyCM
Accupels fly well in my HW77K Bisley Mags for my FAC Rapid & I would not mix the two. (no offence but bulldogs would not go in my rifles - better accuracy achieved in a catapult with them !) - what calibre are you using ? IF .22 I'll happily send you a selection of what I have to try a few out (may not be the best for your rifle but you can see) Bisley Magnums / Barracuda's / Accupells - send me a pm if you want a few posted to you. cheers AndyCM
Axe
does it really make that much diffrence what pellet you use in your airgun?P.S sorry if this sounds a stupid question and would like some sensible replies thanks in advance. FTS Yes indeedy! The consistency of your shooting relies in part on your rifles ability to shoot good groups. Rifles can be extremely pellet fussy, so finding the right pellet is vital to acheiving good accuracy.

Zapp
I use 2 golden rules when choosing pellets for hunting: 1. Does my gun like them (in terms of accuracy) 2. They are either roundhead or flathead, so the pellet hits hard and doesnt pass through the quarry (I NEVER use pointed pellets). A silver rule for me is that I dont use pellets that are too light (less than 13 grains, too much wind deviation) or too heavy (like bisley magnums, the trajectory is like that of a mortar). I use accupels, or eley wasps. Wasps are fantastic huntng pellets if your gun likes them. Pete
killer rabbit (r1000)
i use 'bsa interceptor' hollowpoints, weighing in at just over 16grain for .22 (still waiting for .177 to become available ), they hit the target HARD & on the same spot. very accurate, very good price (£5 for 500), me very happy
