Dr W Posted March 20, 2012 Report Share Posted March 20, 2012 (edited) Hi all Just trying to get an idea of a price for a uPVC bathroom window supplied and fitted. My previous experience of window companies was that they start very high on the off chance you accept and then if you come up with a quote you've already had then they suddenly are able to ring their manager and give you a special deal because they can put a sign outside your house and foot fall blah blah blah but you have to accept the offer there and then. Would like to have a rough idea before we start haggling. It's only 1 window, in 3 sections so that ends would have an opening windows and middle is fixed, it's roughly 235cm x 73cm with frosted glass in white uPVC. Any ideas would be gratefully received. vampire Posted March 20, 2012 Report Share Posted March 20, 2012 Not a window fitter,but have been in construction for a long time,you will be looking at about £600 fitted. I have used various companies over the years and wouldnt recomend any of them,my advice would be to get at least 3 quotes,haggle and then go back to cheapest and see if he can match quote,get it in writing. Do not go to the companies you mentioned that want to leave a board and give discount,they are all over priced anyway,look in the local pages for a fensa registered company. I reckon it can't be more than a few hours work to remove the old uPVC window and install the new one so £400 seems about right. DSPUK Posted March 20, 2012 Report Share Posted March 20, 2012 UPVC windows were fitted to this house we have now - at 20 odd yrs old we had them changed - fitters couldn't believe it when they came to take old ones out - a good thump with palm of hand and out they came - - held in with couple of squirts of expanding foam - they had an easy day.- £400 a window is around the mark.
