bullet boy
Again the NV area is bugging me and is also very interesting to me too but still want to know more info about it all before parting with hard earned cash. Many of you including my mate Matt has told me how good the Pulsar GS Challenger is but what other good NV Add-On is there at around the £1000 mark please? Ideally I'd like an Archer but they are possibly over my budget although im still saving. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou. THE GRIFF
I had a challenger and thought it was great, the best gen 1 nv on the market, just read the reviews. Other options are secondhand gen 2 add on units or dedicated but then you have no warrenty. Another serious contender would be to go down the digital route, there are a few secondhand pulsar n550 units around at the moment or the ns50/ns200 if you can get used to the concept. If I was you I would wait a few weeks as pulsar are bringing out a unit to replace the n550 and also a new digi add on to go on the front of the scope rather than the back, Clive ward at nv scopes is also bringing out a new digi add on unit as well in the next few weeks, not sure of any prices yet though. Either way, wether you buy one of the new models or not the prices of the old ones will drop new or secondhand. You won't beat the challenger at the moment for the money though, it's a cracking bit of kit.

I knew that Pulsar were bringing a new dedicated nightsight out but didn't know about a new add-on so I'll wait a bit to see what they bring out. ATB. mick miller
Personally, I think you'll do well to beat the NS200 as an add-on, if you can live with the heads up shooting position. I had my doubts at first as to whether this would work for me but it took less than a few hours to adapt. I'm head shooting rabbits out to 90+ yards with this set-up, it does benefit from one or two tweaks but they'd all still keep you sub £1000. My monitor is at the side of the scope, which makes it easier to view, in my opinion. I can see fox size objects at 154 yards.

nigegas
HI there this is my first post on here, but i must agree with the Griff the pulsar challenger is a great bit of kit for the money gen1 but with the right scope and ir its superb, i use the AGS swat tactical elite 4-16x56 and the N1000 AP ir with my set up and i can see eye shine 100 yards + easy, i have tried 6 diffrent scopes with the challenger and the AGS blows them all out of the water so to speak not bad for a gen 1 set up and not a lot of money hope this helps nigel.
