Big Marty
Has to be Dewalt every time There drills are second to known , we used to use a Lot of Ryobi drills cheap and not bad quality but found it to work out to be a false economy and stared to buy Dewalt def was a good move for us. Shropshire_Lad
I did take a look at this one yeasteday,DEWALT DW717XPS 250mm. Very impressed with it and even this 10" saw would cut 6" skirting upright. Can get it local for £450 so very tempted Thanks for the feed back guy's, may end up with either at the mo. atvb Paul. harris2006
Im a big Makita fan (all my power tools are makita) but on the sites I work on joiners tend to be using dewalt or festool saws even if they have makita drills and drivers etc.

Robin128
I have a Dewalt band saw that is brilliant. I also have a NuTool compound mitre that is perfect. Don't get blown away with branding.
mfletch
Currently running a Dewalt DW712 and it's been very good, and it's twice the saw with the stand....especially for repetitive cuts. Im using the same setup and cannot fault it.

Shropshire_Lad
Picked up a new dewalt 717xps from a local store today at £429.99. first thoughts are good, we will see how it lasts against the Makita, the 48 degree bevel will be handy. Also got a trend t10 off the Bay new and unused bought as a 240v but came as a 115v at £215. A good buy but didn,t want to go down the transformer route! Anyone want a 115v Lol. atvb Paul. Paddy Galore!
i have both, an old 708L that's now coming up for its twelfth birthday, so far it's cost me a new set of brushes, also have a small fixed axis makita for smaller stuff, both are accurate and adjustable if they should ever be knocked out of true. bruno22rf
Makita all the way-bin to their factory and its superb. We use a DeWalt 18V drill at work and in less than a year the case is coming apart+the reverse switch is easily snagged by your finger in its normal operating position-terrible design in my opinion.
