Picked up a new dewalt 717xps from a local store today at £429.99. first thoughts are good, we will see how it lasts against the Makita, the 48 degree bevel will be handy. Also got a trend t10 off the Bay new and unused bought as a 240v but came as a 115v at £215. A good buy but didn,t want to go down the transformer route! Anyone want a 115v Lol.

i have both, an old 708L that's now coming up for its twelfth birthday, so far it's cost me a new set of brushes, also have a small fixed axis makita for smaller stuff, both are accurate and adjustable if they should ever be knocked out of true.

Thats nice to know, thanks for that.....now about that trend t10..

Makita all the way-bin to their factory and its superb. We use a DeWalt 18V drill at work and in less than a year the case is coming apart+the reverse switch is easily snagged by your finger in its normal operating position-terrible design in my opinion.

had 2 of them, they are pants aren't they?

just got panasonic now, and a cheapo aeg combi set which is pants too.
